The Diamond Apartments are situated in the quiet Kolios Valley, 300m from Bus Stop 15 on the main coastal road. they are run by Christos and Soula Makaratzis, along with there 3 young children and as such the apartments are very family friendly. The location is very quiet, situated along a small lane, with only a couple of properties further along. Nearby are a couple of small pool bars which open till late, but are quiet and friendly and good for a last drink before bed. 200m away is the well renowned taverna Infinity Blue. Directly opposite the apartments on the opposite side of the lane is a small supermarket where you can buy most things you may need. The nearest beach is Kolios Beach, with the more popular beach at Aghia Paraskevi a 10 minute walk away. Aghia Paraskevi also has many more tavernas and bars for you to choose from. In total there are 20 apartments at the Diamond, as well as a great pool, including a small childrens pool, and it always seems very quiet around it. There is also a small taverna run by Christos and Soula, if you don't want to go further afield for you meals. Each of the apartments have double balconies, so you can sit in the shade or sun, one overlooking the Kolios valley towards green hills and one towards the lane. The apartments are large compared with other apartments in Greece and have twin beds, settees and dressing tables. The kitchen is suitable for preparing small meals and the shower room is fitted out well. As part of your holiday you can either do it on a room only basis or pay a small fee for it to include breakfast, served in the taverna. All charges also include air conditioning as standard. I can confirm that the Diamond apartments do have WiFi in every room. Inside the signal gets a bit low, but on the balconies it was fine. We were in the furthest room away from the source though. Sent from the UK

I hope that you get a good reduction on your next booking, Woody, after such a glowing recommendation! I've often passed them and have eaten in their restaurant, so it's great to see what they look like inside. Did you ever drop into the Xanthi bar, down the road, for a wee snifter? It's a great little bar and Matina and Bill are so friendly. Bob

Hi Derek, Not been to Margi House, but I think you get to it just past the Diamond Apartments (see above), so not sure how steep the access is. From there website, it looks as though the views are spectacular though. I have added it to my Skiathos Map for you. Recommendations on Tripadvisor look really good. Woody

Hi Derek Yes, the last 30/40 yards are a wee bit steep but the problem is not as bad as it used to be since they put down a concrete surface on the road several years ago. I always stay at Demitris Studios and the balconies look out on to the final stretch up to Margi House. Before the concrete surface was laid down, it was just a dirt track and it used to be great entertainment sitting on the balcony watching people revving up their scooters or cars, ready for the final assault, only for them to conk out half way up! Sadly, that no longer happens! :-). Providing none of your party have any mobility problems and you don't need to get to the north of the island, you won't really need a car as you are only about ten minutes from BS 15. I hope that you enjoy Kolios as much as I do and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Xanthi Bar for the odd liquid refreshment, or snack! Bob
