The Yorkshire Lass is coming to live on Skiathos in a couple of weeks π Hi to everyone already there. Questions - is there a yoga class? Which is the best gym? Where's the best coffee and cakes? Looking forward to sharing your sunshine π€

How fabulous. Sadly, cannot offer advice on Yoga or gyms. Not something I tend to do whilst on holiday For coffee it has to be Mythos Bar Ariston for cakes. I'm also Yorkshire lass!! (Well maybe less of the lass!!)

How lucky you are because fortunately I CAN offer advice on Yoga and Gyms. Don't do them.
Coffee and cakes, best place is in Skiathos.
Any more useful tips you need, just ask, I'm a mine of information and also a Yorkshire lad.

Oh, and I'll tell you where not to go for coffee. C***a, St*******s or anybody else like them.
I've moved off coffee these days, but it's the same difference for tea. I have in my dotage developed a liking for tea. So driving round all the motorways in the country I like to stop for one occasionally. First off, it's not that easy to get a pot of tea, so many of them just want to bung a teabag into a cardboard beaker and slosh hot water on it. We even had one a week or so ago where they asked if we wanted milk and affirmative, they actually put the tiniest drop of milk in and jammed the horrible cardboard lid on the top so that we couldn't see until we'd got to a table. And don't even mention sucking tea through a cardboard hole!!
So I carefully ask for a pot of tea and cup. For two of us, it's a pot of tea for two. Some places that works fine. But others, they say they don't do pots for two, it's only pots for one. That's OK, except there's usually more than one cup in a pot and when you're driving for another few hours, diuretics are not a good idea. And when there's the two of us, I ask for blue milk for me and green milk for Vera - last time they only did blue and red. Then the REALLY bad thing is those cups. I call them cups, but they are actually cut down builder's mugs, so thick you could build walls with them, but you can't get your finger into the tiny finger hole, and it's a real effort to get my new plastic teeth wide open enough to suck tea out. A child could play basketball with them and be in no danger of breaking them. Then the REALLY REALLY bad thing is those saucers. Since when did they decide that cups shouldn't go in the middle of the saucers and put the hole on one side? They do the same with those teetery tall glasses for LattΓ© and if you're carrying them from the counter to a table, it's a gamble as to whether you'll tip them over before you get there.
So, all in all, don't do gyms, don't do yoga and be VERY careful where you go for coffee and tea.
PS I don't have these problems in Skiathos (perhaps it may be down to only drinking Mythos).

oh Dennis you crack me up, ! i do so agree with you, i hate cardboard cups with lids like baby beakers. I also hate motorway prices. Also hate in when they put milk in first so when they put so called boiling water on wont extract tea flavour, also cheap tea bags taste like dust, only yorkshire tea does it for me. Everyone in town. or in the hospital i work seems to walk round with these cardboard cups of coffee, as if saying im too busy and too important to sit down for 5 minutes and enjoy a coffee, and as for getting on the bus with them and then looking offended when the driver says no drinks on the bus. Anywhere in greece you see people spending ages over coffee or frappe chatting or chilling not rushing round the streets with cardboard cups, they know how to relax and enjoy. Feel better for that rant!

I hate the Like button, BUT I did you a Like for that, Cariad.
I Googled cariad once but I've forgotten what it said. It's a nuisance being short term.

Fitness Spa/gym in town might be your first port of call. I'm not sure if they do yoga but sure they will put you in touch with somebody if its available. I know they used to do Pilates there.
