The views from this particular restaurant are amazing. Is it possible to get up there by bus or is it only possible to get up there with a hired vehicle?

There's no regular bus that way - I don't think (but don't know for sure) the monastery bus goes that way.
You could walk if you're one of those keen people who walk all round and sing as they go (Fal de reeee, Fal de raaaaaa etc). There's another good place up there too, Platanos, which is the one we go to. View doesn't quite match the Panorama one if you care to airport watch, but a lovely view nevertheless. The only time we ever went to Panorama, it was raining stair rods and the car park resembled a venue for bog snorkelling, so we drove out again and went to Platanos - enjoyed that so much that we go there every year now.

For views try Oliveland (Olivethea) above Achladies. Cracking panorama from Skiathos Town to Kanapitsa with Skopelos in the background.

You will also see quite a few times in the forum (and elsewhere) that if you book a meal there, they will actually come and fetch you, then take you back. I have no idea how they can make a profit doing that.

Its a nice gesture though Dennis. When we get there in 15 days (14 and we'll be at Copthorne Hotel Gatwick)I'll look into it.

Not far away from Panorama is Platenos Taverna which usually has some famous visitors in June ie Goldie and Kurt

If their boat's in we'll keep our eye's open, see if we can get in their transport for a free lift. I'll happily buy them both a beer as a thank you, we'd hate to be classed as free loaders lol

I think they fly in, not boat. In my innocence I took this picture thinking the registration might be for Goldie, although most comments seem to favour helicopter.
