Sounds like my kind of day We bought a bucket & spade last year; no kids under age 25 though!!! Lol Getting a tad worried by the "early sunbed" regime. Never usually manage to hit the beach before 11am! Hopefully, as the licenses seem to have granted today for sunbeds on all the beaches, it may calm down somewhat.

Early sunbed regime? Goodness, we've usually been, swum and left by 9am!

Haha Dennis! I totally get it. We chill out out on holiday. After years of alarms at 6am. No alarms in Skiathos. No need to get up before we're ready. Could be different now we're retired though:)

Us too.
Get up when we feel like it.
Wander down to the beach when we feel like it.
Have an ice cream when we feel like it.
Come back from the beach when we feel like it.
Get ready when we feel like it.
Go out when we feel like it.
Have a Mythos or two, as we feel like it.
Wander around looking for a tavern for the evening, as we feel like it.
Wander around and have another Mythos, as we feel like it.
Return back to our digs when we feel like it.
There's a pattern emerging...

Hopefully this is third time lucky for this post, don't know what was going on last night.
Another trip on the bus yesterday, we had a bit of confusion over the bus stops though. The good map I bought online a few years ago has the stops numbered wrongly. Instead of getting off at 25 we got off at 24, no wonder the young conductor asked us 3 times if we were sure. Luckily it's not too far between stops. We marched up and over the hill to Elias singing the Grand old duke of York, sorry to anyone who may have heard, I've been told many times I can't hold a tune.
Nice day on the beach with lunch at the taverna.
Our evening meal was at ratatoullie, mixed grill for 2 and souvlaki for the wee one, she managed to chomp both our lamb chops. Luckily we didn't order starters as the potions were huge.
Well it was inevitable, just surprised it didn't happen sooner. My first mosquito bite of the holidays, 3 in fact. Very swollen and itchy despite 2 types of after bite cream. Hoping they might die down.

Forgot to mention Tre, we arrived at Eleni around 1030 and there were still loads of Sun beds available.
Yesterday was a relaxing day round the pool, well as relaxed as you can be keeping a beady eye on the wee one. She had a fab time with her wee pals. She was totally exhausted when we came back to the apartment at 1700, we cracked it and she had a nap (pity it couldn't have been at 1400), but I'm pretty happy she slept at all.
Walked along the road to eat at Kalivi, really delicious fried corgette, tatziki, lamb chops (small potion), special lemon chicken, the biggest pork chop Andy had ever seen, juice, water, wine, ouzo, all for 41 euros. I love this traditional taverna, one of the best meals we've had so far, no wonder there wasn't a table to be had when we left.

I can't believe you ate all that! I think we really must give Kalivi another go - we ate there years ago and it was poor, so we've never been again since. But I keep hearing good reports since the two boys took over so it's only fair we try it again.

The good map I bought online a few years ago has the stops numbered wrongly. The mistake I made for our first visit - only to discover the airport arrivals hall has a stand with four zillion free ones exactly the same! As for bus stop numbers - we tend to get up and ring the bell based on looking where we are - I've no idea about the numbers except "Number four, Acropolis" as called out by the conductor (and I prefer going to the terminus in town anyway!).

Well we have tried Kavili twice, first time was a total disaster... decided to give it another chance last year... average compared to say Ratatouille/Nectar and Ambrosia so wont go again..

We had a quiet day round the pool yesterday (Thursday) with lunch at the new gyros place at bus stop 18 again. It all looks lovely and new, very clean and the food is cheap and delicious.
It felt really hot yesterday so we retreated to the apartment in the afternoon. Wee one had a nap and I switched between the scorching heat of the balcony and the coolness of the air conditioned room.
In he evening we ate at Green Meadow, it is in a lovely position surrounded by grass, my meatballs were tasty but could have been a bit hotter. Andy said his veal giouvetsi was nicely cooked but could have had more depth of flavour. We had great fun watching a family of swallows, the nest was inside the taverna and the parents kept up a steady job of swooping in with mouthfuls of food for the chicks.

What a great day we had yesterday (Friday). Up nice and early (for us anyway, maybe not by Dennis' s standards!) to catch that bus to town. Got off at number 4 and walked down to the harbour via the health centre instead of Pap street. Not been this way before, it's lovely to see all the houses and say Kali mera to the ladies as we passed.
We just missed the 1000 boat to Tsougria by 5 minutes so spent time on the Bourtzi watching the comings and goings of the boats and a big ferry which always seems a bit chaotic but they must have a system which works well.
On the 1100 boat, the trip across only takes about 15 minutes, we have always done a full day boat trip but thought this would be a compromise for the wee one. Tsougria is just lovely, the first time we have been. The water is very clear and shallow with beautiful sand under your feet.
We had lunch at the beach taverna, we weren't sure what to expect after reading the reviews but it was good. All the food arrived at the same time, the staff there really work hard, running between tables while the boss watches on from a sun bed.
After lots of swimming, sunbathing and plane spotting we got the 1600 boat back - a different one from the one we got across which seemed to confuse everyone. Bus back to Troulos from the terminus was the quietest we've ever been on, we were first on and got seats right at the front, a very pleasant journey.
In the evening we ate at Ambrosia and Nector, I know I've said it before but this was our best meal so far! Feta in filo with honey, fried corgette with tatziki, Sea Breem, pork in paper and a small plate of lamb chops. All totally delicious and a delightful owner taking extra care to make sure everyone was happy. With the bill came three little individual cheesecakes, yum. I'm certainly making a great attempt at putting back on the weight I had lost before the holiday.
