Actually Phil, the real problem is we have been enthralled by reports from the likes of Amy and Tweed, so you are under great pressure to come up to scratch. In reality, ANYTHING you post will be received with joy and pleasure, so just try your best for us please. See you next Saturday, Bourtzi, 1pm with Tre (who has a H in her name).

Day 3. Started late, we took a leisurely stroll down Pap Street stopping for a Drink in Portobello.
Later in the day we searched out Gravisi pizza which was hard work to say the least, just walk past 1901 and it's at the end of the street. After all the effort of finding the place it wasn't even open; maybe we'll return maybe we won't.
On our walk we found Maria's Pizza opposite the town hall; new location and looks good.
Walking back we called into Lobby for a quick drink before we tackled the aptly named heartbreak hill on the climb up to Taxiarchis which certainly lives up to its name.
Is it hot? No it's (Word Deleted) hot; I've not come across a temperature gauge but you don't need one of those to know your warm. Oh by the way got my first mozzie bite today and it itches.

Yes Phil, keep up the (Word Deleted) hot. But you can dispense with the mozzies!

Tre with a "H" here! Just call me T everyone does (cept Denise who insists on calling me Queenie; met when we stayed at the Palace!) Phil, I'm liking warm /hot especially as our stay in May we experienced our coldest day in Skiathos ever! Mozzies; week 2 of antihistamines started. Not done this before. I don't normally get bothered but in May........ Research suggested Antihistamines 2 weeks before you travel..... Jungle formula deet to the ready! Love Maria's Pizza. saw the new premises in a May but didn't get chance to try. Did try Basiliko, where Maria's used to be & was not really impressed. Lots to do before Friday.....Enjoy Phil x

By the way Phil, the way you treat itchy mozzie bites is scratch them.

Day 4. We woke up to blue sky's and wall to wall heat; it's going to be another hot day.
I can confirm Skiathos is now in full swing and very busy. I think yesterdays activities, i.e rushing into town walking up and down what felt like every street (I'd forgotten just how confusing it can be in the older section of Skiathos Town) took it out of us so today is going to be spent by the pool just chilling. We both need some much needed rest and recuperation, isn't that what holidays are all about.
The hardest decision for us today is going to be 'where we eat' this evening. It might involve a walk into the old town to try Gravisi Pizza which incidentally looks nice; it's in the perfect situation or somewhere else, who knows!!
This is why I love Skiathos Town; no need to pre-plan what to do, where to eat as the choices are so varied.
For everybody arriving next week bring plenty of high factor sun cream; your going to need it.

Yes T the supermarket next to Little Balcony but I'd imagine it's available in many shops. While we're on the subject of spelling people's names correctly mine is spelt 'Phil' not 'Phill'. Just saying🤣

Thanks for the advice on mozzie cream.
For repellant it seems to be pot luck; some works for some people but not for others.
But once you're bitten, that's another topic again.
In the past I've had a sort of 'pen' thing. You hold it on the bite and press, and a clear liquid comes out on to the wound.
It stings like mad for a few seconds, but appears to heal it up and stop the itching.
Can't remember what it's called, and I guess it comes under a variety of brand names, but I seem to remember it's a strong alkali (could be wrong).

I don't usually do Burn or Bite. No Burn because I studiously avoid the sun and wear a hat, because although I've got more hair than Dave, I have a sort of wide centre parting which attracts sunshine and punishes me for allowing it - so I don't. No Bite because I don't know why. But one year I took the mozzie plug out of the wall socket on our last night so that the packing lady could pack it. So they attacked us for the first time. I get paranoid at the sound of a buzz next to my ears - why can't they just go bite some other part of me where I'd simply wake up next morning full of regret? But no, they buzz my ears and I have to get up and kill them. And there were loads of the blighters, I had a terrible sleepless night to leave Skiathos with. I tried to keep the sheet over my head, but they sneaked in under it.

I never wear a hat, very rarely do I burn, so I usually end up looking like a Malteser
The 'pen thing' for mozzies I believe contains iodine, very effective and widely available in Skiathos.
