To be clear, I'm not talking about getting paralytic.
I just find a great joy of ordering a fry up and a pint at 5:00am and not getting funny looks as everyone else is doing the same. Reminds me of a zillion years ago when I used to go to the airports by train. My ritual was to go get a burger and a can of luke warm Stella from the buffet car/bar. It was faintly disgusting, but it was the holiday ritual, so I did it every time. I used to feel pleased with myself and happy (that was before I became an Elderly and a Grumpy and nowhere near Malteser-headed).

I pride myself of my Meldrew-esque grumpiness.

Come on Dennis.... I know for a fact you're nothing like a grumpy grump even though you try on here to pretend you are... Lovely Vera would soon sort you out, I'm sure of that anyway..

Can't really face alcohol that early in the morning. Even when at the resort I really try to stick to the 12pm rule. There have been times when I've sat there watching the minute hand go for the last few though! At one time at East Mids they used to cater for the stag party crowd by having these multi pint 'towers' at the tables with a tap on the bottom for communal use. I suspect they had too many instances of people boarding in too drunk a state as I think they have been removed now. The Skiathos flights for me used to be 9am (been dropped now, 12pm only these days) so I was there for 7am and its just too early for me to look at beer.

Trust me, in any other circumstance I'm pretty much the same as you.
It's just something about airports...

Haha 6am flight on 14th June. Just got married (after 35 years!) Thought we'd go mad and have a drink in airport thinking we were about 18 years old and prosecco on the plane. Ended up coffee and bacon butty in airport and sleep on plane 😉very rock and roll....enjoyed much alcohol on holiday though.
