Monday got to the airport Hotel feeling quite stressed ready to try and relax, shuffling stuff around the cases and hand luggage. Had meal in restaurant, watched a bit of Wimbledon before going up to room to try sleep a few hours before 3-45 alarm, no sleep hardly! Off in transfer mini bus for five mins, really fast check in then through to departures/cuppa and slice of toast for us both for both of us to take tablets lol.. Just about to board so on time! π edited at least half hour delay due to Skiathos air traffic control #standard π¬

Good start. I wasn't familiar with your apts but looking at the map I wasnt far away from them 2 yrs ago when I was at the Koukias apts near bus stop 18 at the Y junction. I must have walked past the entrance when I went down to Troulos beach one morning. Looks v nice from the TA photos.

So after a bit of delay in rainy Manchester we arrived in blazing sun just ten minutes behind schedule, a lady sat next to Mick hadnt been before and was dreading the landing, was a tad bumpy but fine so she was ok Onto the bus for the one minute ride to the terminal ha... Got our bags and let the Thomson rep know we wouldnt need the bus transfer as our friend from First Car rental was picking us up, we could take the car from the airport but we like to have a chat and cold drink in his office with him before we set off on our way to Troulos. Now I confess I do get stressed with airports and the rigmarole leading up to leaving home for a couple of weeks but as soon as Mick takes to that beautiful coast road Im all teary but smiley, I LOVE passing all familiar places, spotting new ones too. Checked into Boudouriani apts, really nice corner room on the ground floor, just the job. Complimentary Mythos from the bar where we *chilled* for an hour before walking down to the bigger supermarket on the Troulos junction for essential supplies. Hoped to spot Dennis and Vera but no joy yet. Chilled around the pool for an hour chatting with some lovely people before deciding we would go into town for our first night, took ages to park too, was very busy all over but found a spot in a very very dusty car park.. Walked along the new port admiring the boats along the way, walked up Pap street and turned right to go to Taverna Dionyssos our choice for evening meal.. really nice, chose fried potatoes/tzatziki and fried courgettes/bread for shared starters, Pork slouvaki with rice, potatoes and salad/veg for us both, small carafe of house white plus 2 bottles of sprite β¬41... very good, it was quite empty when we arrived around 8pm but an hour later was almost full. Strolled up and down Pap street taking in the atmosphere before deciding to head back to our apts bar where we enjoyed a few more drinks and being the last ones up lol.. So... thats day one which was a long one too... Typing this on our terrace as the sun comes up, so peaceful, can hear cockerals crowing in the distance, the gardener is hosing down the paths and I am deciding on whether its a beach or pool day, decisions decisions! Looking forward to meeting the lovely Mr and Mrs Hoult later before we all go on the sunset boat to Tsougria... Over and out folks...

Wednesday couldnt decide what to do where to go so we had a chill day around the lovely pool area at Boudouriani.. careful not to sun too much on first day I cant handle too long but had nice couple of swims too, bliss. π We were going to nip out for lunch but again decided to stay put and had lovely lunch of pork gyros with chips and rice/salad, very good it was too. Another couple hours sun/swim then back to room for cuppa and snooze before going into town to meet Theresa and John Hoult on the old port pre-sunset trip over to Tsougria but they were late getting into town so we went to see if they were near the boat which they were, lovely couple indeed and a few more people from the Boomerang forum whose names escape me at moment but a nice 20 mins ride over to Tsougria beach isle was a refreshing change from the intense heat in town. Fabulous beach only marred by the hundreds of wasps... lovely chats and laughs ensued before the amazing sunset, really stunning! Back to town about 9-15?.. we all went our separate ways as all had things to do places to go, and we were going to go back to Troulos so Mick could enjoy a couple of drinks as obv he was driving so we bid fond farewells to lovely people and set off up Pap st to get to the car. Mick then announced Dianne Im STARVING!.. so I said shall we have a sandwich back at apt, no can we go to Dyonissos for something? Well we never eat that late but off we trotted again and ended up sharing some lovely cheese/ham pies then had lamb chops from the grill. Complimentary blancmange dessert, half litre wine two sprites β¬42.... (there was a mix up with Mick's food, he ordered pork chops with asparagus and mushroom but when it arrived it looked nothing like and I thought it looked like squid not asparagus and mushroom! Mick being him didnt want to say anything so just left them on the side, we both tried them but they were tough, def not asparagus/mushroom even with batter round them) but when Mick went to the gents and a waiter cleared our plates I asked him what is that, pointing to the squid? He replied Octopus legs so I explained, he was so sorry but I said my hubby probably pointed at wrong choice on list its ok.. the waiter who took our order came over as his colleague told him and he was soooo sorry but we said it could be our fault and we need to be more careful. I think it was lost in translation cos he had asked Mick did he want to choose from a set menu but we didnt want 3 courses so maybe thats what happened? Certainly didnt upset us but I would speak up before we start eating if it happened again never mind Mick not wanting to he hates a fuss lol π By this time it was past 11pm and we were both tired so strolled leisurely back to the car, its definitely very busy at moment on Skiathos, all the buses appear to be rammed, so pleased we hire a car its worth the expense for us, Im lucky Mick doesnt really drink aren't I? We had a really lovely day/night sorry Ive gone on.. thank you Tre for your lovely company, your John is the loveliest man, so dry humoured he just made me chuckle so many times love it!! ππΌπ

I've not eaten at Dionyssos since 2013 (though struggling to recall what I had, I remember my mate had swordfish and apparently it was excellent) so good to know its still a decent standard. May well be on my list for this year, maybe Sat night if we can get in without booking in advance.

Thursday... later waking up today, leisurely morning for us, still full from eating late so slice of toast and juice is enough. Decided on a beach visit today so off to the end of Megali Amos where we could park the car on the roadside, good 2-3 hours sunning and swimming then called at the supermarket next to Iguana bar for some bits before having a sandwich in our room followed by pool sunning and swimming. Booked Amber and Nectar for tonights meal... was really nice food we had cheese croquettes/tzatziki and courgettes starters.. Chicken with mushroom sauce fries/veg and lamb with tomato cheese and yiotvetsi.. half litre wine 3 sprites and small water 1 portion of bread to shareβ¬42.50... usually get complimentary small cheesecake to share but a few boiled sweets instead.. Back to Boudouriani for few more drinks, nice end to the day π
