Hi Dennis - we were out and about in town all day yesterday & I was on the look out for you and Vera, but sadly no sightings! We walked along the new port to the garden by the terminus, then back again with a coffee stop next to the Meltemi hotel. We then walked down to Mythos bar for beers - wasn't it hot in town? After that we walked over to the Bourtzi and had drinks there between 3-4 pm. There was a bride and groom having a photo shoot on the rocks .... she was wearing a see through dress!!
So pleased you've got some swims in ....... and Vera's got some new dresses. Hope to see you before we go home ......... Wednesday π

I must apologise for not reporting on the weather, so here's a late update.
It's warm. I like warm.

Kate, we shall be in town tomorrow. Programme is gyros at Nikos place (yellow fence) on Papadiamantis Street (with beer). Probably somewhere around midday, could be earlier, could be later. Then Bourtzi for beer and frappΓ©, probably around 2pm, could be 3pm or some other time.
Google t-shirt for me, sensible clothes for Vera.

Bob, there are times when you could be mistaken for a SoftySouthernerSmartyPants!

OK, quick educational diversion - Flora and Fawns of Skiathos (without the flora). First, our praying mantis, then a jellyfish in the new port (with all the little fishes keeping a discrete distance)

When Vera looked out first thing this morning, she reported mist and dampness. I staggered out five minutes later and it had all lifted away. But the balcony rail and all our (Our? -Vera's!) washing was still damp. Mornings are darker at this time of year, so we were late rising today - didn't get going until 7:05am, so we set off to the beach a few minutes behind schedule.
For the third morning running, the sea was glassy calm, hardly a ripple at the water's edge. In anticipation that it would be my last for a while, I really revelled in the swim. Not that you'd notice, I mean I wasn't whooping or splashing about or anything. Simply taking enormous pleasure in the peace and beauty of it. The Tai Chi (spelling?) lady was there again and we continued our chatting from yesterday. The walking man came by again - we see him every September, and a new member of the community today was a Selfie Girl. She was at it for at least 45 minutes, posing and snapping completely on her own, including pouty looks, hair tossing, all that stuff. The small black swan was there with its two big white companions, no racism there. When it flapped its wings, they were white underneath!
In the footpath path field the car which the goat man pointed out for us yesterday had been moved a little, out away a bit from the tree which killed its driver two nights ago when he didn't turn the steering wheel for the corner. Big shiny black Mercedes. Still has its wheels so I gues they're less acquisitive out here (or not many Merc owners need more wheels).
We have not yet found the route round the headland from Akropolis bus stop, so we meandered until we reach those tavernas overlooking the old port at the top of the steps. With our sandwiches from Plateia sandwich bar, we were entertained by two small girls, whose names I got from their parent and on asking their ages I was able to hold my hand out flat to the top of their heads to demonstrate they were the correct height for their age. I told them I couldn't reach high enough for mine!
We remembered that we needed to go to the dress shop again, this time for shorts for me. As I bought two pairs, it transpired that those plus a perfect dress (not for me Bob) came to a total of β¬20. Back in Troulos I noticed that the receipt was for three anonymous items each at β¬5, so I guess I must have given a β¬5 tip!
Ratatouille for our evening meal. Tzatziki with pitta bread, chicken souvlaki, chicken a la creme, large water and large beer, β¬31.50. Complementary offering of a small pot of yoghurt topped by sour cherries, delicious.

Wonderful! I wish we were there too π° Spoke with Treason earlier, he is happy, very happy, apparently dined at Avli in Ag P last night, Elias beach today & heading to Little India tonight π³ Alas, he informed me he was unsure about his newly found "celebrity" status! Having been approached by a "stranger" asking him if he was Tre's son π Love it! Wishing you well Dennis & Vera x

We haven't seen Treason - nobody under 65 but taller than 6'2" and with a gorgeous blonde on his arm.

No Dennis - keep up! It's Eggsson who is 6'4" with a petite blonde attached. Tre's son is dark & so is his beautiful wife ........ didn't you see the wedding pics?
Will have a stroll down to Nikos before we head out to the beach in a last attempt to find you. Don't think we can get to the Bourtzi until this evening. Enjoy the rest of your hols - are you getting a Jimny next week? (Someone told me it may rain after the weekend!!)

It will rain Sunday, Monday and/or Tuesday as we've hired a Jimny for those days. I dunno why I allowed myself to be persuaded because I always feel that if you have it for two days you can do quite a bit.
So we shall have to intrepidly explore. Jilll
