Well I don't know about you cariad but that journey back has made my mind up. Giving Skiathos a miss next year and assuming I go back in 2021 will be looking at the logistics of flying from another airport. They should have dropped the lunchtime flight and kept the 9am. Now what was noon is a 13:15 slot giving a crippling 19:50pm return which they can't keep to time so 20:30pm departure and 5 and a half hours to get back with the refuel plus other shenanigans at Kavala has killed this off for me. I was hearing similar noises from others getting off the plane.

What a shame - will miss your input, Kev 🙁. I’ve really enjoyed your intrepid adventuring .....not a possibility for us with Paul’s health issues, unfortunately. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to let us hear about your trip ..... felt I was with you at times ☺️

Absolutely journey from hell , I will NEVER fly Thomas cook ever again people who ordered meal served at 11-50pm pack of lies told load rubbish need to brakes seen 20 mins turnaround the Gatwick flight with egg landed at Kavala and refuelled gone about 30 mins before us. There was a major fault on that plane you do not need stickers or to signed off to refuel only if fault checked and ok’d or rectified. This happened to us last year with Tc at kalamata sat on ground two hours waiting to be signed off. I thought roads hellish busy difficult to cross to bus stop bottom of our lane. Accommodation very high quality met some lovely people, but felt cut off like not in Skiathos not enough choice taverna s without taxi or long walk. The final straw was that flight we had booked extra leg room flight months ago got on plane looked at boarding pass one row different to our booked row . Showed invoice to cabin crew who laughed and said that’s always happening!!!! I’ll give you a card to get refund I said I don’t want refund I want decent seat. Then man on row we had been moved to said he had booked seats him and wide ended up on different rows! He said that’s it no more Skiathos. To make it worse couple who got our seats I asked if they paid extra oh no booked last minute cheap deal holiday , allocated our seats at airport. Insult to people who book early and pay good price. Luckily we have booked with TUI next year to Leros. But at moment we are thinking of cancelling can’t face another long flight. Ruined holiday so stressed.

The old couple next to me, after getting their food at midnight, just shook their heads and said 'never again'. As it happened I was in 28C so could have come to say hello but because there seemed to be confusion of seat allocation I wasn't sure which one you were. I'm thinking of looking at Parga for next year, flying from Manchester.

well the girl with stupid minnie mouse head pillow was in my seat by emergency door. we were behind me stating loudly what i thought of TC husband had legs stuck out in aisle as wouldnt fit behind seat. The nice man next to me whose wife was on row 27 by window had got to drive to Lincoln. He was asking me about stoupa as wasn't taking east mids flight again, and thought skiathos getting too busy. The EM flight used to go about 9am which meant you still had some of day left . stupid 1-30 time it was dark when we arrived. Friday totally wasted coming back just killing time, if we used tc coach etc luggage would have been picked up at 12. If we go back to skiathos we will go to Birmingham to get early Tui flight. We love it at Angeliki and were thinking of a week in sept next year but flights coming in at nearly £900 makes it expensive. The other accommodation we have used in julys is now over £900 fortnight which i think is too expensive. Incidently we didnt go mad had earlier nights than usual and spent almost the same in a week in skiathos as we do in two in stoupa. A place i think you would like as there is so much to do in area and plenty places to visit , also good walks /bike hire very quiet roads. Lots people on their own too because it is so friendly/safe. No music bars though.

Thanks for adding the photos, Kev - brilliant! They make such a big difference to a report, I’ll have to look at creating a Flikr account as didn't get on very well with Photobucket
