We normally book flight and accommodation separately, however a package with jet2 worked out substantially cheaper once taking luggage, transfer etc into account. An added bonus we flew jet2 to Tenerife for new year, on the return flight they gave us a £60 off voucher, as the saying goes ‘ every little helps’. Different accommodation for us this year, in the Alkyon. we have paid a little over £400 each, bed and breakfast, premium sea view room

I don't know if this is anyone's cup of tea or not, or even if it's mine, but SWMBO has been checking out lots of AirBnB stuff, and has prompted me to look. I've linked to this one in another Fred. www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/19716038?adults=2&location=Skiathos%2C%20Sporades&previous_page_section_name=1001&federated_search_id=30113bfd-f1d5-416b-807d-ebc6af2078cb&guests=1Along with Jet2 flights: www.jet2.com/en/cheap-flights/manchester/skiathos?from=2022-05-02&to=2022-05-09&adults=1&children&infants=0&preselect=trueBottom line, Manchester Skiathos out on 02/05, back on 09/05, total price £223. That accommodation same week £361. So on your own that's £584. Two of you, that's £807, which is £403.50 each. For a fortnight It'd be Flights £240 each, accommodation £707, so £947 for one, £1,187 for two, which is £593.50 each. And for a month (28 nights), flights £273 each, accommodation...well, they're booked up for the following 2 weeks, but doing a few quick sums, it looks like it'd be £1,413, so £1,686 for one, or £1,959 for two, which is £979.50 each. That ain't bad for a month!

This has come up on another thread, but I really should note it here.
Skiathos Palace - luxury hotel, free daily beach towels, free mini bus to town, breakfast included.
All prices from Manchester, based on 2 people sharing a room, 7 nights.
Mon 12/09 £1,176 (£588 each) Fri 23/09 £1,130 (£565 each) Mon 26/09 £994 (£497 each) Fri 30/09 £938 (£469 each) Sat 01/10 £930 (465 each)
The best deal there looks to be Monday 26/09. I've said elsewhere, I've been last week of the season twice, and loved it, but it's perhaps just slightly too quiet, especially by the end of the week. For that reason I've booked for the penultimate week this year this year (24/09-01/10).
Going on Monday 26/09 means you get 5 of your 7 days in that penultimate week, and the 2 nights in the last week are the first 2 of that period. The price reduction for booking on 01/10 is relatively small, so I'd definitely opt for 26/09 out of that lot. Those first 5 days, based on what I've learned about various closing up dates in the past, almost everything should still be open, and most places shut up shop gradually during the last week, rather than immediately on the weekend at the start of it, so the majority should be open for those last 2 nights.
The biggest downside is that the last bus from town to Koukounaries may be running at 10:00pm or 10:30pm. If you're lucky it'll be 11:00pm, but there's no guarantee.

By the way, that same date (Monday 26/09) the Alkyon in town (which Dave has rated very highly since its renovation) £522 including breakfast.
Obviously no mini bus to town necessary. Not sure if they do beach towels.
But that's a great price, given its location.

Just booked for next May, I will post details on relevant thread when it emerges, good deal with jet2, they have changed from late flights to more acceptable times next year. Arriving late this year was ok, but hanging about on return day not so good, especially landing back around midnight

This is typical of why we often choose The Palace.
Last week of the season, 1st October for 7 nights. Based on two people.
Lake - which is where we are now, and the cheapest, most basic accommodation we’ve stayed at one the island, is £398 each.
The Palace is £450, so just £52 more.
That’s fairly negligible in any case. But when you factor in the breakfasts, beach towels and bus transfer at The Palace, not to mention the nicer, larger pool, it’s a no-brainier.
Rule 1 for us is ‘check to see if The Palace has an offer’.

WOW!
Just done a quick search on Jet2 Holidays, listing UK airports as Leeds, East Midlands or Manchester, 2nd October for 7 nights, 2 adults sharing.
Eleni's Village only £319 each.
Skiathos Palacd only £388 each.
Even Elivi is just £827 each for a "Grace Double Supreme Deluxe room with Sea View".
Anyone who's free, fill yer boots.
