Okay folks, a quick post from my sun lounger by the pool, then that’ll be for the day, or at least until tonight, unless something noteworthy occurs.
There appears to be at least one, if not more big groups in the hotel. They’ve commandeered pretty much the whole short side of the pool (facing Koukounaries), but they’re no trouble at all.
We’ve managed to get 4 sun loungers together facing south. Hopefully we can manage this every pool day.
From what I can tell, our room is a deluxe. It appears we’ve been given the larger room, rather than camp beds, due to the kids’ ages. Good job we booked early, I think. The only downside is that it’s right at the far end of the hotel - we’re half way to Troulos! The walk’ll do us good.
I’ve unpacked. Julie has now left us by the pool and has gone to unpack her stuff. The kids stuff is just strewn all over the place; it feels like home.
Theo and I will pop down to Koukounaries later to grab some lunch, and I’ll pop in to Agustera to say hi.
Right. Where are my headphones, that playlist is itching for a run out.

Okay, last night we went to Agustera for as swift ‘un before popping into Under the Pine Tree.
I was offered a portion of lamb, not on the menu, slow cooked for 5 hours. It was great, but it was massive. House white, quite drinkable.
It might just be me, but I think things are a bit more expensive. We usually budget for €100 a day, and we’re sometimes over, sometimes under. The drinks in Agustera were €20, meal €80, drinks back at the hotel €20 again. And we usually think of Pine Tree as a cheap night!
Beach day today, and town tonight - I’m thinking maybe Gravisi.

One quick aside - at our hotel at least, social distancing is no longer in evidence with the sun loungers.

Oh that sounds very nice - sardiney sun loungers! Just for clarity on this. They’re not at all distanced left-to-right, other than the small tables for drinks and phones, etc. But they’re only a single row, so there’s no one either behind or in front of you, which is a big help. Late up this morning, so missed getting any. Sat in chairs under the tree until noon, at which point some came available.

Into town on SP’s mini bus. The usual beer at Mythos, then on to Mesogia. Had pastitsio as I’d never had it before. I wasn’t massively impressed - not Mesogia’s fault, it tasted pretty much as expected given I’ve an idea what’s in it.
But we had their Kolokithokeftedes and Tzatziki for starters which are utterly fantastic. The kids didn’t have a starter, Freya had more Kolokithokeftedes as a main, Theo had plain spaghetti, Julie had lamb chops. 2 x half litres of wine (white and rose) + 2 cokes, €66.
Missed the last bus, get a taxi - 15 minute way, €18, which was far cheaper than I expected.
My dad arrives tonight on the LS207 from Leeds-Bradford. Should be landing at 20:40, any ideas how I can keep up to date with if it’s on time?

At 19:15hrs Skiathos time, LS207 is about to overfly Zagreb and ETA Skiathos pretty much on time at 20:42 (Flightradar24).

Okay, dad turned up safe and sound. A pleasant few drinks by the pool, watching the footie on my Kindle Fire.
More later.

Catch up. Saturday night we went to Ottimo early so we could get back before dad arrived. Theo - pizza, Freya and Julie salads, all big portions. I had 2 starters for a main - garlic bread and meatballs in tomato sauce. These were quite excellent and recommended.
Sat by the pool watching the footie on my tablet when dad arrived + several beers.
More soon.

Yesterday, lazy day by the pool. The hotel is now getting very full. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, I think they may have been missing some staff.
Hotel mini bus into town, off at Bus Stop 4, walk through Plakes was a bit much for dad - more inclined and steps than I remembered.
Ate at Ta Kymata. Dad had swordfish and said it was the best he’d ever had. The first time this had happened to me - my Greek Salad came sans olives. Very quickly rectified when pointed out.
Taxi back to the hotel, more beer by the pool.
Tonight it’s Big Bad Wolf, Wednesday we’re booked into Olive Thea, Friday we’re staying in at the White View.
Still hot. Heavy rain while we were in Ta Kymata, which was pleasant, but I wouldn’t have wanted to be caught in it.
Lots of SuDoku this holiday. I appear to do better when I’ve not had several beers.
