Hopefully your run of bad luck has ended, good you will have the support of Vera’s son nearby if needed, hopefully not. It’s a great coincidence they are sat along side you on the plane. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, the weather is looking favourable, and waiting in anticipation for your updates

Is it worth another x ray of hand Dennis, a common injury when you put your hand out to break a fall is scaphoid fracture, a tiny bone at base of the thumb, takes a while to heal. Hope all goes well and you are soon relaxing in the sun, at least with the weather your garden will be well watered.

Where are you flying from Dennis, so that I can watch on Flightradar24 ? I’m sure your neighbours will also want to make sure you get off! 😄😄😄

I don’t know how I’d get an X-ray, it’s doctors who do that and on my last day before flying, I don’t have a spare hour waiting for surgery to answer the phone far less overcome the clerical hurdle of asking for X-ray. The hospital consultant tested my hand and fingers because last week I persisted in saying my real problem now is my hand he said it’s my nerve damage.
Bob, it’s Bristol 06:35 (in theory, hasn’t left on time all summer) TUI flight BY6558.

Dennis, really sorry to hear of your latest injury. Hope the sun helps to heal your bones! Hope both your own and Vera's injuries don't stop you both having a relaxing and enjoyable holiday

It must be a huge relief that you will have family both on the flight and also staying so close to your accommodation. I know you will want them to have a proper holiday too but in case of emergencies and general day to day stuff, simple things like trips to the supermarket, it will be a massive help. Hope you have as great a holiday as possible under the circumstances.

Much water has flowed under the bridge. The biggest flow being that on 2nd August after a long day driving, I went back out to the van to get the odometer reading for my business records and tripped, put my hand out to stop me hitting the floor and dislocated and fractured my shoulder. I lay on the ground for quite a bit calling for help and eventually Vera came looking to see what I was getting up to. For five weeks I’ve been unable to drive, my arm and shoulder are improving slowly, but my hand is a swollen useless painful lump on the end of my arm. Vera’s knee is still a big mobility problem. Yes, but that aside, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln? That must be the worst run of bad luck in living memory - I hope that luck changes ssoon.

That must be the worst run of bad luck in living memory - I hope that luck changes ssoon. You don't know the half of it - I did say "Short story" - after I got home from A&E, it transpired I had twisted my back and taken the skin off my knee - couldn't walk without back gip, couldn't kneel without knee gip. Back has almost cleared up, knee scab fell off yesterday, revealing another painful patch = kneeling gip.
The really bad news is I've run out of pepsi Max and I can't find it on tinternet any longer - I previously ordered 5 packs of 24 cans and now they haven't got any. Total disaster!

That's one calamity we share - I too have run out of Pepsi Max.

I've just checked again and it looks like Amazon have it back. Just in time for me not to be able to order any until I get back from holiday!

Fingers crossed for all four of you tomorrow Dennis, though we have both discussed how airlines have been playing fast and loose with the concept of punctuality for far too long.
