What do our fellow boomerangers do with tavernas.
Do you eat at the same places? Always try new ones? A bit of both?

We've got our favourites, Ligharies Taverna, Bourtzi, Dinos etc but we're definitely going to try some new ones this trip. Next Monday by the way😃😃

I think we always go to Mesogia. Other regulars are Gravisi, Olive Thea, Asprolithos, Marmita, Ottimo, Big Bad Wolf, Under the Pine Tree, Scuna, Ka Tymata, Koziakas.
We got in a bit of a rut, and decided to try a few new places last year, some of which are now listed above.
We were going to Big Bad Wolf tonight, but it now looks like we’re staying local. We’re considering Souvlaki Strike.

Every time we visit we make a point of eating in at least one place we’ve never been before, yet to be disappointed

Yes I've got a short list of places I like to go but they are not set in stone, eg never got to Ricci e Poveri last year which I usually go to. As above, try adding occasional ones on there are plenty I still havent been to so still to investigate. Last year at least 2 new ones off top of head. Panorama (as we had a jeep for first time) and Final Step to have a chat with the lovely Ruth. It was me and Helen's date night for the holiday.

When we stayed in town had couple of favourites always visited once or twice but always tried new ones. Last year staying somewhere different tried lots of different in troulos some twice. I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal on skiathos. I did notice out of town they did ask before bringing bread etc to increase bill, in town we always had to say no bread we are not massive bread fans even Greek bread which is very good. I thought prices generally cheaper out of town especially drinks so we gave bigger tip.

I’m pretty much the same - I always go to O Paraxenos and (when in Koukounaries) Ottimo at least once, but like to try new places whilst returning to old favourites as and when. I was planning on taking the kids to Avlios Yard and Ricci e Poveri, but ran out of nights. Next time!

Two I won't be making any effort to revisit are Zorbas in Troulos (if its still there?) and Koziakis in town. Otherwise I've had a pretty good run on restaurants. Amfiliki was a bit underwhelming when I finally got round to going but still OK. I'm not a big fish lover so some of the heavily fish oriented places goes over my head a bit tbh.

How many times have I walked past Zorbas? Only seen one table occupied once in all these years and have never been tempted to eat there. We went to Koziakas once and will not be going back again (we were grateful to the hungry cats).

It was the year I stayed at Koukias Village. Been walking in hills all day, didn't want to go far. Tried Salt n Pepper on the off-chance they had a table free but they were full so I just opted for Zorbas as I was pretty hungry by then. Stale bread and suspiciously watery house wine. Main course tolerable but a bit luke warm. Never been back, too many better places in Troulos to go instead.

Kev , you’ve hit the nail on the head, if you don’t like a place you won’t return and as you said so many alternatives,I personally think that this has an effect on food quality over the island. Competition with repeat business being valuable
