Hi, I am finally getting to visit Skiathos on the 18th September for a week and am really looking forward to it! I am a lady travelling solo so a little apprehensive! Any solo travellers on the forum with any advice would be greatly appreciated! Many thanx!

Welcome to the forum kes. My auto correct calls you keys. But don't worry, I won't hold it against you.
you are about to have a lovely, peaceful, safe-feeling holiday in one of the nicest places on earth and you will enjoy it. I shall be here at the same time and I shall therefore guarantee the weather for you. Perhaps. It rained like Noah's flood on 17th September last year and was lovely on the 18th, so all will be well.

Welcome kes, you will have a lovely time in skiathos, I sometimes feel like a solo traveller because I spend a lot of time in the hotel bar waiting for H.I to get ready! But seriously nearly everyone is friendly, Greeks and Brits and will always pass the time of day or have a chat, its that kind of place, have a great time.

Hi Kes and welcome to the forum. I visited Skiathos in May as a first timer and solo female traveller and had a very enjoyable time. Like Exgreekgod and Dennis have stated, the Greek people and holidaying Brits are friendly. I based myself in Skiathos town for convenience and ventured out on the bus to the beaches. So many restaurants in town you would not get through them all in one week. As I have no experience in staying in the many smaller resorts on the island I will leave that to the many wonderful boomerangers to inform you of their favourites. What I can say is that I felt very safe even walking back to my accommodation late at night. Enjoy your week you should have a wonderful time.
