Oh, Egg, 28th August for 10 nights means you don't get a drink out of me - we shall not be meeting as our September visit isn't until 9th. What rubbish timing!

Its great to have a holiday to look forward to, pleased for you. We have had nightmare week, 4 weeks to go to holidays, just starting to buy last few bits, mozzy spray suncream waterproof mascara ! Then husband cut thumb tuesday with angle grinder looked not too bad only an inch cut at base of thumb, but blleeding heavily after 7 hours at hosp , x rays poking around temp stiching followed by consultants appts pre ops for next 3 days operation friday, the tiny tendon sliced right through. If we hadnt got it checked out would have lost use of thumb. Has to rest it for 6 weeks, has a plaster back slab on, doesnt get sick pay . Looks like new snorkelling gear wont get used. But at least 2 weeks of recovery will be in the sun. I'm trying to teach him how to hold washing up brush between teeth !

Sorry Dennis we shall have to try next year, a drink from a Yorkshireman would've been nice! It would have been worth putting in the trophy cabinet! You've got my dates for next year - must try harder.

#CARIAD self employed people are entitled to claim sick pay. I did it myself 15 years ago when I did my knee and had 8 weeks of crutches and physiotherapy. It was a 39 page application form. Just one slight hitch - they deduct stuff for things and in the end paid about £2.80 a week! It's surprising how curative that amount of sick pay can be.

thanks dennis, hes not self employed, employed with a very tight boss , he wiil drive 10 miles acrooss town to save £3 on a lorry part, maybe hes from yorkshire ! sorry dennis ! i know all about lots of page booklets i used to work for the benefits agency, a couple of years ago when he was made redundant they said we had enough to live on with my part time wage (17 hours a week ) apparently we can all live on £120 a week, if you havent got a mortgage. Dont worry GG its his left hand can use right to lift his cold fix or ouzo or wine. If it was both hands he'd find a way (straws) i think i should try and cut down on the weight of the suitcases though, ha ha

ExGG, I think it is an excellent idea and was the first thing I read on the forum this morning. Your son and friends appear to be having a great time, full on, no time to do feedback. :-)
Cariad, so sorry to hear about your hubby's accident! Absolute nightmare and so close to your holiday! Hope he heals fast and it won't take away from his enjoyment on Skiathos.

If it was both hands he'd find a way (straws) i think i should try and cut down on the weight of the suitcases though, ha ha Aw, you surely wouldn't cut down on his straws? It may seem like a funny joke to you, but let me assure you it isn't even vaguely so!
