Have a great last night and a pleasant flight home. According to the weather forecast you will be returning to temperatures hotter than Athens tomorrow! Bob

Yes enjoy your last evening (well for now!) It's certainly soaring in South Yorkshire. Currently 28 degrees at 7:30pm. Just put another load of washing on the line

I have today driven to Darlington area and back. It was 27 degrees when I left home at 8am, 32 up there at 1:30pm and 30 when I got back at 8pm. I've had the aircon on in the van all day and only just survived!

Absolutely glorious yesterday in the Scottish Borders, but boy are we paying for it today with thunder and lightening and torrential rain. Such a pity as this is the annual civic week and tonight is the installation of the principal, known as the Kelso Laddie. This takes place in the town square. (Usually).

Oh Bob, I do hope it went well. I've just read up on the tradition and approve of it. (Sorry I didn't get onto this earlier, I got man flu yesterday and can't move).

Sorry to hear about your flu Dennis. It does seem harder to get rid of it at this time of year. Amazingly the weather cleared to allow the installation and fireworks display to go ahead. I will let the organisers know that they have your approval and I'm sure that will stand them in good stead for the rest of the week. The rideouts are quite a thing to see with around 300 horses taking part on Saturday, passing not far from my front door. You should see my rhubarb! Bob

Y'know, I'm not horsey, but when I read about the Laddies I thought the rideouts sounded great.
But rhubarb? Apart from the fact I grow rhubarb myself, with moderate or average success in spite of all I don't do for it. However, you're looking at a bloke who was born and raised in the Rhubarb Triangle of West Yorkshire. Nuff said.
