The yellow roll-on pen thing does nothing for us. We get the white Bite Therapy thing, in a tube like a medium toothpaste, it squeezes out a gel which is really really stingy when you dab it on a bite which has broken the skin, and so much ammonia it will clean seven toilets in one go! Don't sniff it or touch your eyes after getting it on your hands. I got it after I was given a dab onto one of those horse fly bites, (the sort which you feel painfully when it bites and it actually bleeds, flies so slowly you can usually kill it after it has bitten you, but the lump grows to small egg size) which it cured very fast.

I never wear a hat, very rarely do I burn, so I usually end up looking like a Malteser The 'pen thing' for mozzies I believe contains iodine, very effective and widely available in Skiathos. I'm pretty sure the ones I've used are ammonia-based, though I think you're right in saying iodine-based ones are available, too.

The ammonia based creames are effective but smell like damp nappies. If you can live with smelling like you've wet yourself they do a good job 😀

So that's why they leave me alone - age, dark clothing and convenient padding have SOME advantages then.

Day 5: We tried Gravisi Pizza last night; although the setting was beautiful the pizza was a bit disappointing. It wasn't bad but I was expecting a bit more. Liz had a bacon and mushroom pasta dish that wasn't even on the menu; it was prepared specially for her which she said was lovely, meaning the evening wasn't a total wright-off.
It's still hot and the mozzies are still biting but not me. Liz bought an ice cream yesterday, as the blighters prefer sweeter blood they attacked her last night; her ankles look like there about to erupt, bless her.
Another lazy day today, more chilling is in order and tonight we're on the bus to Kolios to visit our old friends Christos and Soula at The Diamond Taverna.
Just in case anybody's wondering I can confirm the Mythos tastes as good as ever.

To be honest, Phil, I'm rather expecting the Mythos will taste even better next week - I'll get you one on Saturday afternoon on the Bourtzi. LOL.

Day 6: 8:30 am and the sun is beating down. The temperature in full sun yesterday was 46 degrees so I'd imagine the ambient temperature was around 38 degrees; yes it's warm. That's an understatement 'it's hot as hell' to be honest.
We planned to visit Kolios yesterday but ended up in the bar; too much Mythos mixed with Greek sun took its toll, hence to say we didn't make it; it's now the plan for today 😀
We're getting the 🚌 from bus stop 4 (at least I think it's number 4) which is only around the corner from Taxiarchis; first stop Troulos to visit a few of our old haunts then on to Kolios and the Diamond Taverna.
My head's banging this morning; will I learn from this mistake? Probably not, after all I am on holiday. I'm looking forward to seeing if Troulos has changed much in 12 years.

We're sat in Villa Rosa; Troulos having a well deserved beer. Troulos hasn't changed dramatically in 12 years.
Yes it's changed a bit but so has the whole island. One thing that's not changed is the persistence of the mosquito's; they've had a feast on me.
