We have been out s to our local this afternoon, it’s situated in a lovely location alongside the canal, plenty of barge traffic, a very chilled and happy clientele.
one of our company made the comment, ‘ if you could guarantee weather like this I would not go abroad ‘, I thought travelling is not only about the weather, although it helps, it’s about different cultures, seeing sights not available at home, and eating local food. Also enjoying hospitality offered by the locals.
i May Be way off the mark, but I don’t think so

totally agree, i ve just returned from four scorching days in wales lovely, but going abroad as you say is enjoying different cultures, food etc and the sea is much warmer whats the point of hot sunny days if you risk hypothermia going in the sea. we love norfolk but two weeks cottage rental/hotel add petrol costs more than our holiday to our beloved greece, and costs far more to eat out.

I agree, too.
Where we’ve been in Crete, it was occasionally cooler than back home, but I’d rather be there.
