I believe TUI have just announced that their insurance will automatically cover any 2020 package holiday for Covid-19, even if you’ve got your own insurance you can get TUI cover too.
I have no idea what the cover is, but I would imagine they’d get panned if there’s a load of small print exceptions.

I hadn't heard that Dennis, but I suppose more companies will come on board. It will be interesting to see what the cost will be. As is often said, you never know how good an insurance policy is until you are in the unfortunate position of having to make a claim.

I've seen it mentioned by TUI a couple of times. I've just glanced at their website and this is a link to their Holiday Promise - www.tui.co.uk/destinations/info/our-holiday-promise - I haven't looked any further as I'm not interested because my policy is annual and does cover COVID-19, even when I renew it next February or whenever (I've asked them), because it's renewed insurance, not new.

I actually think it's something of a PR exercise by TUI, a calculated risk that they won't be taking you to a COVID risk location and then a calculated risk that you won't get it anyway and if you do, so be it, it won't cost as much as people en masse not booking wiith them.
