Just started looking at flights for next May, they’re most certainly more expensive than previously.
i am wondering if the fact that a lot of people have transferred this Mays cancellation onto next has had an impact.
shall we book now, or hang fire and see how the market moves.
whatever the situation , we shall be going ,unless of course the virus raises its head again.

Second point first.
We might get a second spike this winter, spilling over into early spring, but it should be done by the start of next season. But ‘spikes’ aside, I don’t think we’ll be done with this virus for another year or two. It’ll trundle along until there’s a vaccine, or effective treatment.
Obviously, the flight price is always a bit of a lottery. Whilst many people have moved holidays to next year, others will have taken a refund. And some who would normally be going next year won’t be booking, due to loss of income, or fear of the virus.
Will the net result mean more or fewer people going? Place your bets.

As far as Coronavirus is concerned, I think it is now a part of our lives in this new world, just like influenza. We’ll adapt to live with it and eventually life will become mire like the old normal when efficient vaccines are in place. In the meantime our current situation will exist or bumble along until that happens.
With flu vaccines readily available to the most medically vulnerable in society, other people live with its presence. In a few years that’s what we’ll be like with Coronavirus.

We have found that the flights are more expensive when booking while still in holiday season. If we've just come back off holiday and try to book for the next year it's extortionate. We usually get flights around Jan Feb time and they have come down. But I'm not sure how our current issue will affect the knock in next year.
