Birmingham airport well organised with sanitizer everywhere, limited numbers allowed at the gate area so we were surprised that on boarding it was not done by row number. Tui had asked that passengers only took hand luggage that would fit under the seat in front of you, alas this fell on deaf ears as the vast majority were using the overhead lockers. Only 1 trip through the cabin by the drinks trolley and no duty free on board.
On arrival at Skiathos we had a short wait to get through passport control with random testing being carried out. As soon as we cleared passport control our cases were on the carousels and we were straight onto the coach for transfer to resort. Every aisle seat was marked do not use which most people took heed of but there are always exceptions to the rules.
At the accommodation the manager immediately explained the changes implemented due to the pandemic, sanitizer was available in the pool and bar area and also on each floor of the apartment block. The staff and guests all used the sanitizer at regular intervals.
The tavernas and giro place we ate at were meticulous at cleaning and sanitizing after each use. Masks had to be worn in the supermarket which also had sanitizer outside. All in all we felt very safe in the resort.
The return journey was much the same as the outward trip with the only real difference the drinks trolley passed through the cabin twice.
