I visit this website probably every day and always take a few moments to look at the webcams. But I'm beginning to think I have to give up on it - the views are great and the weather is (almost) always beautiful. Today, at the middle of yet another miserable, drizzling, cloudy, gloomy, wet, horrible day here, the views of Skiathos and Skopelos are almost unbearable, I'm aching to be there. I've driven down into town three times so far this morning, windscreen wipers on, demister going, sick to the back teeth of not being somewhere delightful.
I shall once again be praying very hard to the gods of EuroMillions later today.

The closed season is always the worst time to read/see anything about Skiathos Dennis. We are not even sure we will be able to get there next year, which makes it even worse!

dennisn, no lottery win for us tonight:( I call it the "3D" season - Dark, Damp & Dismal! Or even the "Curtain" season- I open the curtains as I leave for work & close them as I get home! Roll on 30 May. 2014. Would love a sunshine break in February, but don't want long haul for a week & had enough of Canaries! Any ideas? Woody, sorry to hear you might not manage Skiathos next year. Sometimes you have no choice but to make "priority" choices. I'm sure you'll be back though when circumstances allow.

I know what you mean Dennisn. I just came across this great little video on youtube. I don't know whether this will make you feel better or worse, but I enjoyed it!

Yes kelso, a brilliant video. I am weeping with pleasure, envy and frustration after watching it (and checking my useless Lottery ticket!). From the quick glimpse of Barbie and Illusion in the old port, it was done at a similar time to our visit. Unlike Woody, we are certain of being back next year, with our holidays already booked and mostly paid for - the only thing which will stop us is an appointment with the grim reaper (which at my age I can't rule out with confidence! ).

Tre, have you thought of trying Madeira? Haven't been myself but know of people who love it.

It's an idea kathos. Thank you. Currently looking at Cape Verde. Nowhere will match Skiathos though.

Ha ha kathos. Totall agree. The "Curtain" season is now well & truly upon us. And, the Christmas adverts have started to appear on TV. I do love Christmas so can sort of cope until January. Hence why we thinking of a February break. Roll on 30 May,
