Hi everybody, I'm Gary & along with my wife Trish we have been visiting Skiathos for about 11 years. We usually stay at Koukounaries as we like to go to little banana beach for the all over tan. We usually visit at the end of May/ start of June & again in August. I've joined here to keep up to date with all things relating to Skiathos & especially holidays & travel from the UK. We've started searching for May 2014 If anyone has visited small banana then you might recognize me as I'm the guy who fishes with a hand line. We know a fair it about Kouk's so f there are any questions....feel free.... Gary

I'll just say Hallo and welcome, Gary, so that you don't feel unloved. We've only been once, so far (booked for two visits this year, June and September). We didn't like Koukounaries beach, too busy and tourist for us, and I couldn't even find Little Banana Beach yet, but anyway, all over tan is not for my wrinkles (there's nothing so 'orrible as a prune)! So we are booked into Troulos.

Hi Dennisn Thx for the welcome. We agree that Kouk's beach is too busy & so is Big Banana with loud music in July & August so that's another reason to go to small banana. It is so quiet & piecefull. Not everyone goes nude it's each to their own. No-one minds if you keep a cossie on. My wife does, but you have the option if you wish. It is deffo worth at least one visit if only to get some pic's of the sunset which is truly spectacular. Best enjoyed with your loved-one & a bottle of wine. lol

Congratulations on your full membership Dennis! You should give Little Banana a try. It's got nothing to do with body beautiful and must be the friendliest beach on the island. If you give it a go you'll find all ages, shapes and sizes and won't want to go anywhere else. When you get off the bus, take the track up the hill beside the little kiosk, then just follow the signs. Bob

Welcome to the forum Gary. Little Banana is our haunt too, usually end of June. A great beach and so friendly. The wife doesnt do the all over tan either (except for swimming), but is happy to sit among those that do. Not sure we can make it there this year, but will be returning next year.
Dennis, if only to see where it is, go have alook, it is a very secluded beach. As Kelso says, at the last bus stop at Kouk, take the track up past the kiosk in the car park and follow it to the top (don't take the left hand fork to Amberlekia beach). After 400 yards the first beach is Big Banana. Head to the right of BB up and over a hill and you will come to LB. It seems as though you are heading to no where as the track becomes narrow and rough, but keep going and you will arrive. You will know you are on the right beach when you get there!!!!!

If you still have problems finding your way Dennis, take a look at this film:

Hmm. Thank you everybody, perhaps we shall - we certainly fall into the category of ages, shapes and sizes - very advanced in all three!

Blimey, you would have to be dedicated if you had to walk that distance each day, you would probably fall into the slim category from burning up all those calories

We've spent many a day on Big Banana, only ventured once 'over the hill'. We had a walk to BB last year but the place has changed.
