Just look at the bottom left corner - a ferry is in and I can't zoom, pan, tilt, or anything this webcam. So frustrating.

That thought has crossed my mind - reading his blog about getting somewhere with the authorities, I imagine it might be a great new project for him! To be honest, I don't think we could get it though - if you were running a webcam, would you be willing to let somebody from thousands of miles away who you don't know take control of it? Lets face it, I'm as honest and reliable as the day is long, but nobody else is!

Hi all
A few years ago you could control the webcam but as there were so many people looking at it at any one time it was constantly moving from one view to another as people wanted to view different scenes. Someone who controls the camera decided to fix it and now only they can change it. It's a pity because it was nice to be able to view the various scenes around the harbour i.e the old port, the new port, the marina etc. Still at least we can see something of our beloved island until we are able to return. It still brightens up my winter months.

Yes kittycat, we used to look (and control) the webcam on a daily basis a few years ago. You could even follow aircraft in on approach!

Hi Woody. The second Skopelos webcam link goes to what seems now to be a dead site - the last update was way back in November. I was once in touch with the camera person, but I'm guessing he has closed it down now.
I did email Skiathian about controlling the camera and he kindly replied with the information already mentioned - it used to be controllable, but the control was stopped due to misuse and overuse. I also mentioned to him that the camera sometimes shifts view a little and he replied that he thinks it might be due to the occasional small earthquakes.

So it does, hadn't noticed. I will remove it.
