Get off the bus at Bus Stop 24 and walk down the road opposite the Mandraki Village. This takes you down to the little harbour and you can cross the bridge onto Kouk beach. Having never regularly used Kouk beach, I don't have too much of an opinion about the pros and cons of the harbour end, but I would guess that the whole beach is very similar. The only negative thing I would imagine about that end is that on getting the bus back from the beach, it may be quite full as a lot of people would have got on at BS26.
Next visit, get of at BS24 and walk the whole length of the beach to see what you think.
There's also a gate immediately behind the bus stop opposite the Caravos hotel/Stamelos restaurant which is access through a very nice little wooded area. Comes out near the little bridge over the end of the lake that feeds into the harbour. Always lots of fish around the bridge, they go mad for a bit of bread. I stayed at the Caravos in 2012 so used that as access to the beach or a walk round the lake quite often.
