Is that a gun boat in the port this morniing? I could do with one of those right now to send to Lottery HQ - the numbers since we got back have been absolute rubbish. And whilst we won the Euromillions three times during our September stay on Skiathos, when we got back I collected the princely total of £10.60 for our holiday tin. Must try harder.

Good morning Dennis. It's the HS Karavogiannos. It's not a gunship, but from your point of view it might be more useful as it's a lighthouse tender (according to Wikipedia) so might be able to help shine a light on the right lottery numbers. I haven't checked mine yet so like to think that I might be worth a fortune, but still able to communicate with you poor people. Bob

You're a Smartypants, Bob - it didn't cross my mind to Google the ship's number. I hope you didn't win the lottery - I couldn't stand it if you started treating us with disdain!

Believe it or not I won £25. That's the second time in three weeks. My previous win was over a year ago and these two come just after you started mentioning the lottery. No commission coming your way I'm afraid but please keep mentioning "lottery" in any of your future posts.

The gun boat has gone this morning - I presume (hope, even) that it has gone to tend to the lottery and shed a light on the numbers for this week.

I do the lottery on line, while checking my e mails on line in july in skiathos, one said good news check your lottery account! Full of excitement I logged in to be told we have detected that you are abroad you cannot log in or play while abroad. very frustrated and thinking I may have 6 numbers I text son to log in to my account to check , Alas £25 so we had to go home at the end of our 14 days, everyone who heard us talking round the pool was waiting with anticipation of drinks all round !... one day !

I stopped doing it online as soon as I discovered there are restrictions on getting at your winnings. every penny of our winnings go into our holiday pot, even the £2.60 minimal wins, but you can't get those. Furthermore, in UK I only buy one days draw at a time with Euromillions, because in my opinion you are always a loser in the million draw after the first day.

Winnings below a certain amount cannot be withdrawn, just get credited to your online account. We put EVERY bit of our winnings into our holiday pot, £2, £25, whatever.

I don't know if Euromillions tickets are on sale in Greece/Skiathos, but that would be the only way of buying them - as Cariad said above, if you log onto the site, it recognises that you are not in the UK and won't let you play online (you CAN check the draw numbers, because I did, in order to save myself the stupidity of coming home, although thinking about it, I would have had to come home to pick up the lolly!).

What are the restrictions you mentioned Dennis?.. Ive just this minute bought a euro millions tkt for tonight online... If I win, I want to be able to get my money and treat people I love like I dream of doing... not to say, oh wait, cant do that!! There is one other thing (which is unavoidable when you buy tickets to cover your holiday stay out there). The raffle draw is allocated with your chosen numbers. The raffle number is something like ABC 123456 and that's the number you get for that night and any subsequent nights. The first night, the numbers will be something like ABC 123456. But on the next night it'll be CDE 123456, the next night EFG 123456, and so on. So you don't have any chance whatsoever of winning the million raffle draw after your first night. So in UK I only buy one night's draw at a time. If you find this surprising, look at the previous draw history online and you'll see the raffle usually goes up alphabetically each draw. How do I notice this stuff? I CARE about winning the thing, so I look perhaps more closely than other people. And I REALLY care for tomorrow's draw at something over 100 million - I could enjoy winning that!
