Hi everyone,
hope everyone is well.....I haven't been on her for a little while!
i have just had my holidays confirmed for next year and am hoping to return to Troulos in September but my initial search seems to be quite expensive in comparison to what we paid this year when we went. However,I do admit I have only briefly looked at Thomson and Thomas cook.
Does anyone think that it may be possibly worth waiting until nearer the time for a better deal or that the prices now are probably not going to get much better??
best wishes to you all!!

The prices didn't come down at all this year for sept if anything went up. its very popular time even though the weather can be abit unpredictable in sept look on monarch and Olympic and low cost holidays as well. Best prices usually on a Monday or Tuesday for some reason !

A cynical person might wonder if there is any connection between rising prices and the new compensation rules. Thank goodness I'm not cynical! I agree about September prices going up, the later you wait. Last year in August, Olympic wanted over £1,000 for one week self catering, compared with about £700 for two weeks if booked earlier! Quite disgusting when you hear how little they pay the accommodation providers. Needless to say, i didn't book at that price. Bob

I can never understand why sept always costs more tnan june when in june long light nights settled weather. we go end of june so like to squeeze in a week in sept if possible, This year would have cost a lot more for a week in sept than we paid for 2 weeks in june !crazy! and there were no last minute deals. I book the time off work and am prepared to book last couple of days, This year we ended up going to madeira instead in sept as friends invited us to their large apartment so only cost us £225 each for a flight, fantastic weather and silly cheap to eat out. Enjoyed the change but have to admit still prefer skiathos. We have booked flight only with Thomas cook for next june , we booked back in early july ,the day after we returned, and the flight has already gone up £150 for two and plane is nearly full. The accommodation is booked out too, so if we had waited we could have lost our first choice. While skiathos is so popular and so few airlines, unlikely bargains.
Saying that our friends went to the esperides early june from luton , then got a last minute deal end of june to mythos apartments troulos, and surprised us turning up first week in july for £225 !Very nice apartments but a long walk from the beach.

We have found the prices not changing much since our first visit in June 2013. Of course, I'm so incompetent I cannot easily find what we paid then.
For 2015, we are actually paying £2 less for September than for June.
June 2015 - £1214
Sept 2015 - £1212
For both, we are travelling from Birmingham, two weeks in Villa Maria, Troulos. We have paid extra for 5kg extra baggage allowance and for select our seats (those two add an extra £84 for each holiday).

Thankyou all for your replies.......I will keep searching!
We had a wonderful time in Villa Maria in June this year....we are undecided between returning there or trying somewhere different but still in skiathos! i think we were quite lucky to only pay£978 for two weeks so it was a bit of a shock when I was seeing prices between £1300-1400......it's a big difference!,
i quite like like a challenge though so I will keep going with my research!!
thanks again.

Yes, Villa Maria (strangely one of the very cheapest on Thomsons) is about £1300-1400 for 11th September when I looked just now. That's about £200 dearer than we have already booked for our two weeks then. But I've heard that the website cookies recognise you and pop the prices up a bit - don't know how true that is, but see if you can clear the cookies and see if it gets any better. My only solution is persistence with the Lottery, but that's wearing a little hard these days - 20 years I've been doing it and still not a millionaire.

I'm off from 28thAug, got my best deal through MyKindaTravel (subsid of Hays travel)who were a bit cheaper than some of the onliners, even loveholidays. I'm having to do a solo trip next year but got a week s/c in Troulos for £525 which included under occupancy surcharge, 15Kg luggage and airport transfers. Admittedly it's at Koukias village who are always at the bargain end of the accommodation prices but I doubt it's all that bad.

We must have got really lucky as we had a week in sept at Jimmy's studios in Ag P for £230 pp, booked 6 weeks before we went with Olympic holidays.

Booked flights and accommodation independently. Have always done this. Flying ex Manchester Thomas Cook 2x flights were around £650 and accommodation in Kolios (Diamond Apartments) with a not bad breakfast for 2 weeks £700. Apartment prices have gone up this year but they were held at a low price for a very long time so cannot really complain. Not the cheapest I know but has a beautiful pool/setting and close to bus stop for town and beaches but quiet
