I had quite a day driving yesterday (Prestwick Airport and back), with weather at all extremes.
I had the most appalling bad luck. On the way home, as I came past Keele services, driving southbound on the M6, there was a magnificent rainbow with its end in the northbound services. So GRRRRR - I couldn't get across there to dig up the pot of gold. Yet another bit of bad luck when I could have been packing early and off to Skiathos tomorrow (or even today if it was a big pot).

And the follow up to this sad tale - the Euromillions draw last night. We have three lines, two are the same numbers every time, third is a lucky dip. So last night both our regular lines were winners. And I've lost the ticket! But it's only a grand total of £9.50, so no sweat. EXCEPT I don't know what's on the lucky dip line. So I can dream on. And weep!

Good news. We went to daughter in law for our fortnightly meal (we alternate, they come to us one Friday, we go to them next). She gave me my missing lottery ticket which had become caught in a bundle of magazines Vera gave her at their last visit. So the winnings are found again. And the weather forecast has changed again this morning, so it'll be a fine day for our flight on Friday - for the past week it has fluctuated from good, to less good, to poor, to calamitous and now back to good. I grumbled about the late English Friday flights again yesterday. But now I get hold of myself I simply think "This time next week all the worries will be over, I'll have had my first early morning swim in Troulos Bay, we'll be on the bus into town and all will be well with the world".

Have a good time Dennis, I came back last Friday after a very hot week, regularly up in the high 30's most of the week. Hottest I've known it at that time of year. The mozzies were out in force after bank holiday Monday too. I sat and had a frappe in your honour at a snack bar next to the Troulos Bay Hotel. Got as far as paddling but never had chance to actually swim in sea this trip.

Well Dennis, From TA reports it sounds as though the wasps are having a field day. I hope that you've ordered a Wasp Zapper from Amazon! Bob

Hah! I at mozzies and wasps! I have a T-Shirt of mozzies even. According to my (rubbish) iPhone, they are having a thunderstorm at this very minute, so I suppose in truth it's a glorious sunset. I've just rung Angela to check but she's not answering so I suppose they are down at the beach. My (rubbish) iPhone also says it will have a thunderstorm tomorrow - Jules (and Lee) and Janey are going to Villa Maria tomorrow. We have only 3 days left, but I count them as two, because I won't be working Thursday in order to do whatever I have to do, working up- my excitement for Friday 07:10 at Birmingham, but it will probably not go until at least 08:10. Good news is that the storm on Friday isn't going to happen after all - according to (rubbish) iPhone (which worries me).
