Hi all,
As Dennis has now surpassed my forum post count and has been to Skiathos much more recently than myself, he has kindly agreed to become another Skiathos Boomerang Forum Moderator.
I am very grateful that he has agreed to help me out. Although this forum is an easy one to moderate due to the kind nature of Skiathos visitors, there may be a time when we are hacked and inundated with spam posts, so another pair of eyes is gratefully appreciated.
Please welcome Dennis as a friendly moderator as well as a stalwart of this forum.
Woody

It's good to see that you are getting support to lessen the burden Richard. I'm sure that Dennis will make a good job of it. I just wish that more of the people who visit each day would contribute some of their experiences or photos. Bob

Hah. I've just discovered this thread. I always thought this sort of appointment was done sneakily, without announcement, so I was keeping my head down, expecting at any moment Kelso would notice and blow the gaff. When Woody asked me, he mentioned my post count and I noticed it was about 770, so it passed the number of the beast some time ago. I have to disclaim credit for being a Skiathos expert, I'm nothing of the sort. I've (with Vera) only been five times at this point and there are many others who have far exceeded that number. My regret is that we only discovered this island in 2013, together with Villa Maria in Troulos. I said back then that this would be the end of our wandering and I have no sense that this opinion will ever change, we are so comfortable there. My ambitions now are to see Goldie Hawn and to win the lottery and buy a place to live on Skiathos. She was on telly the other night and I missed her. They drew the lottery too and I didn't win there either. Ho Hum, it's 101 million pounds tomorrow night, all the better (I'll get a place with TWO pools).

Oh no, it'll all go downhill from here. Where do I resign?
;-)
Seriously, hope you don't have too much grief Dennis, they all seem a very well-heeled respectable bunch on here.

Well, maybe today will be a good day for a change. After a 170 mile trip, I come home to find this lot! And in the meantime, as I chewed on my banana, out came my last tooth - I kid you not, a banana. So it's off to the dentist on Friday for a final showdown. This was the last tooth, so I won't be having the dental heeby jeebies much longer. But it'll be quite traumatic, as I discovered when I rang that they have a new receptionist who doesn't know me and a new dentist who doesn't know me. That means a huge investment in retraining them on how to deal properly with a terrified and impatient out patient, which will be mostly wasted as I'll not be going back again once this thing is dealt with - just a shame they can only survey the damage on Friday and set up a new appointment to dig out the stump and remake the bottom set of plastic teeth, so it's not the last visit. Last time I was there, the dentist said he'd make a new set that would fit me and would eat stuff when the last tooth went to the great glue factory in the sky - but he's not there now. Sigh! Probably a very good time to consider long term investment in a soup factory.
With a gaping hole in the current bottom set, I expect tonight's footie will prove to be quite a challenge in the crisps department. For anyone who doesn't know, a bit of crisp under a dental plate is the oral equivalent of having your finger nails trimmed with gestapo pliers.
Tonight is 101 million pounds lottery night. I shall also put my tooth under the pillow to see what the tooth fairy's latest going rate is. And tomorrow, I could be a very rich toothless old git.

Crisps should not be a problem Dennis, if you eat them like my elderly neighbour. Just dunk them in your tea/beer and then "sook" them up! I dare you! Do let us know how you get on. Bob

Sort of crisps soup? I don't fancy that. I managed two small packets - in 20 minutes! I usually like a six pack, or better still, one 100 gram packet, but I couldn't any longer. Trouble is, I didn't see this coming, so I have a stock of 3 of each (six pack and 100gm) which will have to wait a few weeks.
