any recommendations/direct links for a ~3 week stay for a single travelling independently in 2017? Most hotel sites don't seem to let you book that far ahead, only one i can see that does is Alkyon which seems to avge 3.5/5 on trip advisor but it's only £16 a night, always thought it looked a bit in need of tlc tho i think some tour operators use it

£16 a night very cheap fot there, very good location, handy for buses, town etc.
I can recommend oasis, but alot of places wont book so far ahead because they havent decided on charges for next year until aug/0ct time.
I would have a good look through booking .com etc and e mail places you like the look of directly , they may do it.
Personally if travelling alone and 3 weeks, i would go for something smaller, where you can get to know owners /other guests etc/ even if you cant book for a few months dont worry theres so much accomodation about you will get somewhere.
You could try private messaging Ian SL1 on trip advisor and his blog on here he may know someone who has a room to rent who doesnt go on booking sites.
It also depends on what time of year you are going and your buget.
Mike At oasis has his own site you can e mail him, he answers quickly may take a booking for next year, he has rooms for travel companies also keeps some to rent out direct, this get taken very quickly with returning guests booking whilst there.
