We're flying from Stansted with Thomas Cook next Friday so just thought i'd look at today's flight - 53 mins delay, the weeks before over 2 hours delay. Trying to get an answer as to why from Thomas Cook is impossible. Can anyone enlighten me as why this happens. We had the same last year on Gatwick flight (nearly 2 hrs ) and what annoyed me was still left apartment at normal time and total lack of staff at airport who knew anything . Moan over - hopefully this time next week will be at Hotel Morfia

It's a very common thing these days. We had a delay when we flew out in June, Thomsons, we're going again five weeks to day and our flight today departed one and a half hours late, arrived Skiathos an hour late. It used to be a regular thing for us to be half hour delayed departure, which time they made up to arrive on time.
The broadcast reason is that Skiathos is a small airport with limited room for parking so they have to wait for enough room. But they seem to say this EVERY time nowadays. What we find annoying is having to spend that delay time sitting in the aircraft after boarding on time.
GRRRRRR!!

Same for us a month ago, Birmingham Thomsons, sat on plane for an hour, same reason given, landed only 10 minutes later than scheduled. Every year we board on time & always sit for at least half an hour. Had an hour delay on return flight, which is the knock on from the outbound, it seems to be the norm now!

Ours was Birmingham six weeks ago (24th June). The rotten thing for me is I can tolerate those aircraft seats when I know I'm doing 600mph on the way to Skiathos, but an hour and more sitting on the Tarmac in Birmingham is pure purgatory - all my padding is round my belly, not under my bum!
