here is one i wrote last year August........

okay here some of the late news:
yesterday after long delays Fabric has opened.
it is a new club , and its location is where the Busuki Greek music place used to be, on Club row.
this place is the only one that has the proper license ( indeed a very strict and difficult process now days) of a center of music entertainment, meaning that it has the proper qualifications of soundproofing, fire escapes, parking, air ventilation and 1000 more details. it translates that it is the only place that music can be at loud volumes and until the early morning hrs.
the owners are the same as Bananista owners , the ones that caused the closures of the 2 big banana clubs 2 years ago.
talks have it that their plan is to do the same with the Calhua, BBC and Pure clubs, and most of the smaller places on the waterfront like rock and roll, marilyn, and many others,as the late can manage to get only a coffee bar license, thus are exposed to all kinds of trouble with the authorities , for they should lower their music after 12, and put a cork at 2 am.......
the new place has brought about 10 new security personnel ( easily recognized after hrs spend on gym and weights.....)
this could get ugly, for the other places have local security, including a town hall member, and residents of the local gym etch.......
on the other hand the Punda residents are all putting up flags and are close to celebrating the end of their war on noise!
is there going to be a new era on skiathos?
at this moment though my info is that all coppers are out holding decibel meters, and that the department of internal affairs of Greek police are visiting as well...........
talks have it that smart layers managed to postpone some fines including the 10 day close the business, usual penalties, for law breakers, so most of the old port Cafes will not close now but at a later time so it will not effect them so much ( you see 70% of yearly revenues come on august alone)
the island is now full with youngsters from all over the world,
