Re my above post; just been looking again, they have a "go light" option which doesn't include bags or meals. Seems the £473 was & still is under this option. I paid more under their "flex" but it INCLUDES bags & meals. Sorry if I have mislead anyone.

Actually Tre ,rather than mislead anybody, you have actually provided some useful information re booking options for anybody considering this route. We've always flown direct, however more I hear of how simple and cost effective this option is,will certainly look at it when booking again.

£361 return in middle of August with Thomas Cook (no one else flies from East Mids)including £50 worth of luggage (20kg allowance), if you went with carry on bags only then £311. Can get better deal with a package but I had to do flights first this time.

If we could have got that price with TC, we'd have definitely booked it!

Against my better judgement, just checked TC for our dates (30 June 2 weeks) Much better price, but still £120 more than we've paid. Still happy with our price with Aegean but for anyone looking to book ......... seems like a good time. Or, will they go down again in the lead up to Christmas?

Who knows, Tre - I knew at the time of booking (September) that I ought to wait a bit but was worried the flight would fill up. Done now - so I'm not looking any more!!

Rule of thumb,if you're happy with price you've paid, then you have paid right price, don't beat yourself up if they fluctuate. Remember why you booked flight and look forward to holiday that awaits you 😎

Exactly, we are still happy with the Aegean price & flight times. Last year (sorry this year!! Lol) We booked early October with TC because it was the wedding. Paid £500+ each!!! Ok so that did include 30kg luggage!! So, yes, still happy to be paying approx half last year's price !! How can I be this excited for our next visit?? Big birthday.......... Dennis, remind me of the countdown.......

Yes, all swings and roundabouts. For eg what extra I may be paying this year not doing a package is cushioned by the fact I bought a lot of euros last year in 2 batches when the exchange rate was (first batch) 1.38 to the pound and (second batch) 1.41 to the pound, enough to see me through about 2 more holidays general spending money.

Sorry Tre and anybody else - my computer slightly died for a week and had to go to the Apple shop for CPR, it takes more effort to do the site on mobile stuff. Plus Ive been busy these last couple of days, getting back late and not doing computing. So here's the ticker as usual.
I wonder if some people who normally use mobile realise that their tickers are still there saying they were in Skiathos a year ago and more (because tickers don't show on mobiles)?

For a I just tried to see how much it would be by Aegean at the time I'm going next year - I'd have to go to either London or Manchester to get a flight that has an Athens connection and the prices were still more than I've paid with TC. The 'go light' return price would be £382 (TC equiv £311) and the flex £411 (TC equiv £360).
