Christmas cards and songs? How about "Now that's what I call music ninety four"? I can remember it's only four years ago we had "Now that's what I call music seventeen".
I'm keeping back my letter to Santa in reserve in case my letter to Camelot doesn't work - you wouldn't believe how good I've been.

I think I have all the 'now that's...' general pop compilations (in mp3 format)from vol 1 to the current one. Dennis is right though, it was 1 per year for a long time but more recently they knock out at least a couple per year. I don't even listen to chart music, keep them for knocking up playlists for parties etc. Here's my contribution to the 'cheering up your day' photos (we are bit off Monday yet) as it was one of my fave snaps I took when on Skopelos in 2015...

Is there not a rule about men not being allowed to go Christmas shopping,I've just been informed we are heading out to get (yet more) presents for grand kids. We have walk in wardrobe we can't access as it resembles santas grotto,I think all grandkids have same middle name 'spoilt', good job I love them. On bright side booked table in pub for a meal after spending has finished. Does Skiathos have a Christmas shop ?

balddave, I love Christmas, shopping an all. More especially since my OH retired from retail last year & so our "Christmas" had become more than one day! Previously, he came home at 6pm ish Christmas Eve, & was back at 8am Boxing Day. Remember his comment the other year when "click & collect" became vogue....... 8am Boxing Day: "I ordered this yesterday to collect" sorry, it's not ready just yet. "But I did "click & collect" ....I appreciate that but the store has only just opened. We'll have it ready soon as. "Well that's not good enough, I expected ........." They shopped on line Christmas Day, click & collect, & expected it ready 8am Boxing Day"............Christmas Elves springs to mind!!!! Rant over !! No grandchildren to shop for ...yet... bless, they only married in Skiathos earlier this year!

i must be one of those rare creatures that hates going round the shops in town (except john lewis) i do nearly everything on line. no carrying heavy bags no parking problems. Men should not be allowed in shops, they wander off, mutter to themselves, keep saying HOW MUCH !!!! thats just sainburys ! i said to a friend that there should be a creche in shopping centres like for children, she said there is called a pub. I feel sorry for people in retail this time of year hardly a break. i can hardly get in the spare room for Amazon boxes. Ive an extra present to think of this year youngest son now has serious girlfriend, hope they go slowly 4 grandchildren enough. Thats the price to pay for having six children between us and husbands girls havent started families yet ! I bet Dennis is really good following vera round in xmas t shirt, santa hat carrying all the bags

I wear the "She's with Mr Grumpy" t-shirt and a floppy hat with a string that Angela bought me. I wouldn't be bothered to have a pub, just be more than satisfied with a chair to sit on (the Chinese people's shop in Papadiamantis Street has one, so I'm quite happy to go in there - I even bought some trousers for myself [or was it shorts?]). Oh, and that's what men do - they carry the bags.

OF COURSE! My knotted hanky would look off balance without socks at the end of my rolled up trouser legs.

Important question ,are socks sandals and hanky colour coordinated . I believe Dennis is the gok wan of Skiathos The hanky is pure white (c'mon, that's de rigueur!), but the socks are 15 denier sheer black (the slimming effect) with fluorescent orange silk tasteful embroidery, Monday Right, Monday Left and so on. Feel free to adopt the style if you wish.
