It's a horrible grey Monday and next June seems far away, so I'm cheering myself up by looking at this beautiful place!

We had an away day at Bangor for Saturday night. We saw quite a bit of snow on the way back (200 miles altogether), but through not listening or watching the news, were very surprised to hear that everywhere had suffered chaos. Our greenhouse lost a panel too.

It's pretty grim everywhere, done lots of motorway miles this week, not a very nice experience. Much rather be coaxing a Jimmy up hills of Skiathos with roof down. Off to take grandchildren in Seville Christmas presents on 8th December for 5 day visit, then Tenerife on 28th for new year ,so not all doom and gloom.

Yesterday lots of heavy rain & floods here in Yorkshire. Hoping for a "calm" day Saturday as flying out from Manchester to Prague for 5 days, Christmas markets. A first for us (Husband in retail until he retired last Christmas, so going away at this time of the year was out of the question!) Never packed for a holiday without suncream!! Lol!

The market is incredible, lovely decorations to be had. we needed our sheepskins gloves hats very cold. get a one day ticket from metro station thats used on all transport trams etc use if going up to the castle/cathedral used for 24 hours. we then hopped on trams going in different directions to see wider area just get off when had enough cross road and back again. great value. The free walking tour that meets under the famous clock every morning is well worth doing, you learn so much about the history and what things are you wouldnt notice. takes in churches, jewish quarter charles bridge old prisons etc. most people give the guide a good tip at the end. Theres an hour break middayish in a cafe for rest and food /drink etc . The museam in the jewish quarte is thought provoking especially all the drawings by the children in camps nearby. dont bother taking heels for nightime all streets cobbled need boots/flats. have a great time.

Sorry about your greenhouse, Dennis. (I was 'liking' that you'd been away - not that you had suffered storm havoc!!) Prague sounds great - I love city breaks. Good advice about the walking tour, Cariad - it's great to find out about the places we visit, although Paul prefers to find a good bar & people-watch!

Our greenhouse lost a panel too. So can we now officially say that Dennis is a panel short of a greenhouse? 🤗 Bob

Well I WAS Bob, but the blown out one actually stayed in our garden and was still large enough to go back on as a temporary measure. I happen to have a few spares and this afternoon with an improved weather situation, a brand new panel has gone in. It makes the rest of the greenhouse look extremely drab. However, I don't think the tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers will notice, especially as I shall carefully avoid mentioning it to them. :-)

Paul prefers to find a good bar & people-watch! I presume he HAS won the local competition for intelligence and wisdom?

Our geenhouse suffered alot of damage every winter eventually the sliding door broke and couldnt get replacement parts. When we decided to dismantle it husband managed to angle grind his hand ! yes dennis there is a few places i havent been , but hope to get round to! I love travelling and my sons have inherited my wanderlust in fact have been more places than me. How do i delete ticker factory dennis it took me long enough to get it on. I had a nice surprise , a text from lady we met in skiathos on our last two holidays, she comes from our town, and is friends with petros who works for sakis taverna (long white hair looks a cross between santa and billy connolly) he also works at stellina. she spends most of summer and part of winter in skiathos. Nice to hear all the news from the island and what its like out of season.
