Having spent approximately 24 hours over a number of days trying on and ironing practically my whole summer wardrobe, today is the day I pack it! I tend to put the heaviest clothing in the case first building up to the lightest and over the years I have folded them in half, laid tops flat and those which have sleeves, just folded the sleeves over or rolled everything into "sausages" (oh boy, what will Dennis have to say about that) but the results are all the same. On reaching my destination and unpacking my case, I find that everything is creased! So frustrating especially as I take hours and hours to pack everything so carefully. For years I holidayed with a friend who had a completely different take on packing. She would fold trousers in half then throw everything else haphazardly on top. We would arrive and unpack and her clothes would be fine and mine ......let's just say I wondered why I had taken such care and slaved over a hot iron for what felt like a week! I look around at other holidaymakers and see that their clothing looks just ironed whereas mine look as though I have slept in them! :-):-) how do you all do it? Instead of taking hours and hours packing today I am going to give myself just two hours (I think I might be kidding myself here) and hope for the best. Who knows, less care may result in a "just ironed" look but if you are in Skiathos over the next two weeks and see a woman in wrinkled clothes the chances are it will be me! :-):-):-)

When I get there (23rd) you'll be easy to spot then, you'll look you've just got out the back of a bin wagon by then. On the other hand you may be lucky and the creases and wrinkles might of have dropped-out. Have a fantastic holiday

Kev - thanks. Not sure about Skopelos, rather fancy Alonissos but ferry times not good! Thought I might check out the Skopelos/Alonissos trip and see if they would do a deal, out one day and back the next! Worth a trip to the old port to ask. Will keep you posted if I can get a good deal!
Tre - thanks. Yes, hope to post a diary again, can't guarantee it will be interesting/ exciting! Nothing like you first ever trip to somewhere and everything is new and you have that great sense of adventure! :-)

I look around at other holidaymakers and see that their clothing looks just ironed whereas mine look as though I have slept in them! :-):-) how do you all do it? They pack very few clothes and use their baggage weight allowance to pack a travel iron - just watch next time you meet them they'll be wearing the same things again (just don't stand down wind of them!). Hang your clothes up as soon as you can when you get there and any creases will drop out. You didn't look wrinkled when we met you in the Bourtzi. You never did post your "When are you going in 2017", so you've come as a bit of a surprise. Sneaky!

Actually I responded to a post very recently and Di responded too and asked if I was going to Skiathos this year. I replied with the dates and Tre also picked it up. Think it may have been a response to what's your favourite Greek food. Dennis, your slipping! :-)

I think Dennis was meaning you don't seem to be on the 'official' list hereI know what you mean about Alonissos. I've only ever set foot on it via the whistlestop day trip that took in Skopelos as well so we got about 2 hours on Alonissos, not enugh to see much at all but as you say the ferry isn't that convenient either.

Isn't there a naturist beach?
Problem solved!
