Quite a few retired people here.
Has anyone been on holiday to Skiathos for an extended break?

When my daughter worked in the windmill for the 2003 season, I visited 4 times, mainly to replenish her finances and take replacement phones , managed to lose 2 and jump in tennis club pool with 3rd.

sounds like when my son worked in ibiza one summer lost his phone first week, constantly topping up his credit card, likewise when he spent uni summer break in australia. I think im still waiting for repayment of air fare he put on my credit card. Still only 15 years ago theres still time ha ha. I wish he had worked in skiathos i'd have excuse to spend longer there.

One year we did six weeks at the beginning of the season and then another four at the end, highly recommend staying for as long as you can. You stop thinking of yourself as a tourist and more like someone who is living there for a few weeks. Never bored always something to do it was great.

That's what I'm hoping for one day.

If you ever have the opportunity to do it then grab it with both hands. My OH would have stayed for the whole season but I'm not good in high summer heat, it didn't matter how long we stayed for he said it was never enough 😉 We used to fly out on a one-way flight only ticket and sort out the return whilst in resort. Loved every minute of it.

That's our plan, Kathos - as soon as Paul's hospital appointments are a bit more spaced apart. Can't wait!
This year, we've just been to Koukounaries for two weeks and have booked another two in September, staying in town for a change.

Kate you would love it, there's nothing better than sitting on a plane to Skiathos not knowing exactly when you will be going back home again and being really not bothered haha.
Is it your first time staying in town?

Yes, Kathos - we've always stayed in Koukounaries before, but fancy a total change. We don't get to eat at enough of the fab restaurants in town and, this year, Paul has found walking up & down the rough track to our studio tough. It will also mean we can use the bus or water taxis to several different beaches. Can't wait!
