This might be a long shot but thought I'd throw it out there as a few of you are on the island or recently been and have taken non phone Wifi devices. I don't have one and I think it would be tiresome trying to do it from my phone so this year I was thinking of doing some reports while I was out there (my 'recollections' from 2015 were all done after I'd got home from notes I made while there).
So I'm looking for recommendations for a small (no bigger than 10'' screen) tablet with following: Running Windows Proper keyboard Must have processor running 64 (NOT 32) bit (I have another use for it at home and software runs 64 bit only) Budget £250
Cheers Kev

Sorry Kev, my humble Asus doesn't run to your spec! :-( Sounds like you probably need a laptop (not that I am an expert)!

I finally got round to setting it up at the weekend and it seems to work OK, can get on t'interweb from my router at home via wifi so I will just have to keep fingers crossed that the signal is OK at accommodation. Though it just about doubles the weight I'm glad I got the keyboard to go with it to turn it into effectively a mini laptop, so much easier typing anything of length than via onscreen keyboard in tablet mode. So th eplan is to take it to Skiathos next month and try to do a few 'on the fly' reports.

Good for you Kev, I'm looking forward to your reports, although I'd warn you that my experience earlier this month didn't show very good results for local free WI-FI. I hope you're going to find out about alternatives to Photobucket before you land, just in case they pull the plug on you.

I've just set up a new account with tinypic and created an album called 'Skiathos 2017' in readiness ;-) How much time I will get to take pics and do reports whilst introducing mum to the delights and idiosyncracies of the island remain to be seen though!

That sounds really useful. But to be honest I don't think the telly in our room had a HDMI socket - I can't be sure because I never even plugged the telly into the electric socket!

I think the free wifi in the accommodation I'm staying in is just in the public areas anyway rather than the actual rooms so it had to be something physical with a screen I could carry around, interesting bit of kit though. I was reading some of the reviews of Swells bar next to the Angeliki and it looks like they are now only giving out their wifi code to people actually staying at the hotel (to keep their connection speeds up apparently)so I won't bother taking it down there to do some catching up over lunch! I bet they wouldnt refuse it to Kurt n Goldie if they pitched up one lunchtime.

I reckon the thing to do is hire a rowing boat and paddle out to near the nice superyacht parked at Koukounaries, then hack their WI-FI - I'll bet they've got 14 zillion GB speed!
