I tried to get details on TA but just speculation came back so has anyone here done the ferry trip to Skopolos and got off at Loutraki (glossa)? I'm told if it is a particular ferry they lay on a free bus transfer down to the main town. I'm just wondering if the bus route reasonably scenic and how long it takes. I've looked up the ferry timetables and it looks like you could get an earlier ferry than the normal one (the regular ones, not the cats) and this goes to Loutraki and then there is a bus trip to the main town but you should still end up at the main town earlier than getting the later ferry direct to main skopolos town and (if it is correct) get a free bus ride thrown in. Can then later get the normal ferry back from main town to Skiathos. Sounds like a day out but I've yet to find anyone who's actually done it!

Sorry kevb, really no idea. Hope you get some answers though as we're thinking of a Skopelos trip next year.

For those that didn't catch the info in the feedback: The free bus trip does exist, the coach is run by the ferry company. You need to be a bit forceful at the desk in the office as not all the staff have full knowledge and that particular service doesnt run every day. The bus runs from Loutraki harbour and seems happy to drop anyone off anywhere on the main road from there through Glossa, down the coast and then inwards to Skopelos town. Takes about 50 min total and some of the views are very nice indeed, though you end up on some narrow mountain passes which are a bit vertiginous.
