For some friends of ours yesterday's flight back to Gatwick took off today. After getting to the airport they were told their flight was 3.5 hours delayed then after a few hours later were told, you are going nowhere. Eventually taken to town for a bed for the night and provided with a meal around midnight. Took off at 11.00 am UK time this morning so hopefully half way home now. What a nightmare though. I know some folks will say ah well you got to spend another day in Skiathos but most of their extra day was spent at the airport waiting around or being transported to somewhere else. Compensation time I think!

Certainly an unfortunate end to their holiday and companies are not good at keeping their customers updated on the situation.

I wouldn't be happy either. As soon as our cases are fastened all we want to do is get on the plane and go home. Your holiday is over, you don't need or want to spend hours in the airport only to be bussed back to some cheap digs then having the same reverse performance the next day. I hope they receive the compensation they deserve.
