how do you upload photo please, nice to see face behind the name. At top of page click on Profile, then click on Edit Profile wherein you will find a thingy for uploading (or alternatively linking). Be aware that uploads are very restricted in size

If your photo is too big, and it won’t let upload, don’t despair. Just ask.

If you want to move just 1 or 2 pics from your phone to your PC, then email it/them from your phone. If you have 2 email addresses, piece of cake. Alternately, just create an email with the pics attached and save as a draft.
Wait a minute, then go to your PC/laptop. Open your emails, and go to the correct folder (Inbox, Sent, or Drafts), and download the pic from there.

Dave, now you're home, would you like to expand on your experiences at the Alkyon?
Is there some sort of rooftop bar or something? What are the breakfasts like? Anything else?
One question - do they provide free beach towels?
Cheers.

I’m not at home right now Cariad, so can’t play around to get it right, but this is an idea:-
First, note that size is stated to be max 1mb, so if you see more than that, don’t expect it to work. iPhone nowadays saves photos in very good quality, so usually they’ll be too big, so…..
Take a selfie using Portrait mode (to get a nice square picture) and send it to your laptop. Open it on laptop (by double clicking if you didn’t already know), then click File, Save As and give it a new name (eg Avatar), and select the quality you need, as JPEG, Quality 720p. With luck that could bring the file size down within 1mb.

It’s definitely a hotel of 2 halves when in comes to accommodation, front and side rooms renovated to a high standard, free safe &aircon. the hotel has 2 bars lobby and pool serving a good selection of well priced drinks, both these areas have been renovated and have numerous comfortable seating areas, pool has a patio area with tables and chairs and sunbeds around the pool, these are gratis. there are comfortable lounging areas on the 1st floor with a panoramic window looking over the sea. the rooftop is the dining area , both internal and external tables, fabulous views over the bay toward town, a large central island from where breakfast is served, a full range of foods, English with eggs both fried and scrambled, smoked bacon ,various sausage, beans, mushrooms etc. A good selection of pastries and cake, various fruits, yoghurts and cereal. Toast with preserves and continental style cheese and meats. Juices from dispenser. Tea and coffee served to your table. there is an evening menu available but we didn’t try, also Carnagyo is now part of the hotel. with regards to towels, I have no idea sorry

Many thanks. I think the renovations were due to be done in two parts, so maybe the other rooms will be fine for next year.

What can I say about our last evening of this trip, a change in meet up plans, papadiamanti too windy so met in Mythos for a drink before the restaurant, booked into Scala [ previously Mediterranean] this being the sister restaurant of Richie o pouverie so we had high hopes, trust me we were not disappointed, the setting , the service and wow the food all excellent. The restaurant is looked after by Christos son, a charming man, educated at Stirling university in Scotland for those interested, we ordered starters to share consisting of , smoked mackerel, garlic mushrooms, roasted haloumi and Mexican spiced wedges, our mains where, 2x chicken in mustard sauce, a pasta dish, salmon with prawns and mussels, I had roast duck with spinach and plum sauce, side orders of dauphinois potatoes, we washed it down with 2;bottles of the palatable house white, the total bill was about 150€, the duck alone in the uk would have cost £40ish, the quality was Michelin standard,. It was only after we had eaten and talked to Christos That he informed us that he had the islands renowned top Chef Andy in the kitchen, if any of you have eaten in any venue he has previously worked will know the standard of his cooking. Dave, I'm hearing lots of good things about the Scala this year. Could you confirm where it is? You come away from the port, up the steps, past Rock 'n' Roll, turn right at the top into the square...then is the entrance on the square, or do you have to turn right again after the church? Cheers.

Kate, I’m afraid you’ve missed the sequel. Cariad reported that she had a go at editing Profile, but hit the buffers at uploading a picture.
