Enjoy, YM! Hope you have better weather than we did in April - I loved Tuscany though. We only had four days there and had saved the Florence trip for the last full day, only to find that there was a sudden rail strike that day 🫤

Enjoy, YM! Hope you have better weather than we did in April - I loved Tuscany though. We only had four days there and had saved the Florence trip for the last full day, only to find that there was a sudden rail strike that day 🫤 The weather has been fantastic apart from one day of rain. Temperatures 20-23, pretty much perfect. We found out this morning that there’s a rail and bus strike tomorrow. Just in time, as our flight home from Pisa airport tomorrow morning us at 10:30, so we needed an early start - taxi to the station, etc. As it is, we’ve booked a taxi straight to the airport. Pricey, but no real alternative. Florence has been excellent.

Good to hear that you had a great time. We also has fabulous weather for our trip to Sorrento last week … around 24C and dropping to 20 in the evenings. Hope you had a good flight home 😎

A bit unstable approaching Manchester, rolling from side-to-side, but then the actual touch down was the smoothest I’ve ever known.

I’d recommend Florence without hesitation.
Especially if you like steak.

That sounds so lovely Dave. Will it be a decent temp? ☀️😎 Just returned, as we left today it was 25 degrees, rather pleasant . It is a fabulous place to visit, lots of sights and a vibrant atmosphere, not to mention excellent tapas

I’ve only visited once but absolutely loved it! It was late March and the smell of the orange blossom in the streets was amazing. Loved the tapas, too.

Visits to Skiathos: More than 10

We have been going to Skiathos for over 25 years but sad to say not this year, as pensioners we have to watch our spending so next year it’s 4 weeks in Corfu which is actually cheaper than 2 weeks in Skiathos , we will miss all the Greek friends we have made in Skiathos but maybe 2025 who knows.

It’s sad that Skiathos has become so expensive Tony. I know a few people who are booking elsewhere for next year, for the same reason. Have you seen the EasyJet prices though? At the moment they are a lot cheaper than Jet2 and Tui - my friend has booked flights for herself and husband in June for only £424 - Manchester to Skiathos 😍. Am a bit sorry that I booked mine early now!

Sod’s law, after eventually booking Athens in Feb after years of talking about visiting, today my wife has been invited to speak at an international education conference, and yes it’s in Athens in July . To close to Skiathos not to piggyback a cheeky few days just trying to work out the logistics. Before Athens a week in Tenerife from next Sunday, can’t beat a bit of winter sunshine
