Well we have at last received the decision from the tour operator with regards to our problems with accommodation following the delayed flight. We had a case to answer and they have today paid us out albeit with vouchers. We are happy with the outcome and are now looking forward to our next visit to Skiathos in June Sue ??

Sue, Hope the "Vouchers" are "easy to use" ?! As long as you feel compensated I'm pleased for you. Interestingly, I mentioned this to our son & his girlfriend who where delayed overnight with a Monarch flight in July 2013. Can't believe he didn't take my advice! The flight went "Tech" & they had approx 30 hour delay. Does anyone know if they still have a case? I'm sure I've read that they'd still have a case.

Yes we are more than happy and the vouchers are easy to use, already used towards our next holiday. I would certainly get your son to try if it was a technical fault because it appears that the ones that are rejected are the ones such as extreme weather (like Skiathos this year) strikes etc. it's certainly worth trying and tell them not to be fobbed off and make sure the tour operator stick to their time scales. I sent two further letters and made five phone calls and because I still hadn't heard anything after 39 days following their acknowledgement letter told them that I was about to write to ABTA and the CEO of the company and guess what I received the email with the vouchers.

Thanks Sue, already onto it. Unfortunately he no longer has their booking ref. I've advised him to go for it anyway as they should have passenger records. It was 26 July 2013 & there is a full TA thread on it. Will let you know how they go on.

It's worth trying and like you say the tour operator should have records. I hope it's a good outcome, keep me informed.
