Oh dear, Di. How very discreet of you, so trying to work it out I wonder if you might have to offer an Olive branch if you go back, or will you just sail off into the Blue? Am I warm? Bob

Our unable to connect to server was the airport taverna where they were worked off their feet - I wouldn't take their job unless it included free flights, a year's free accommodation and five days a week off. We only got half our order and had to remind him, then took ages to catch him for our bill. I went inside to pay it rather than trouble him.
Has anybody else come to the conclusion that the woman inside running the place is descended from the Gorgons - terrifying!

Yes, we also had a long wait for food at the airport Taverna Dennis... we were sitting on upturned beer crates too as it was so busy, most uncomfy..

I wish they'd hurry up getting the webcam to work again. Although, to be honest, I suspect right now it might not be as lovely as last year - the weather has been pretty poor recently in the views from the Skopelos cameras and an email yesterday from Angela (Villa Maria) said that they are busy preparing for the start of the season, but the weather is not helping.

I totally agree Dennis. They did manage to get it operating again for a wee while the other week but I wonder if it is a bigger job than they thought. Maybe one of the people going over for Pascha can try giving it a dunt with a big stick. How about it Stig? ? Bob

I'm sorry, have been to occupied with the Easter Celebrations and drinking Tsipouro.
But on the other side, what's this fuzz about a Webcam?
For bomerangers: close your eyes and think about your favourite moment.
For newcomers: Think about your imagination of heaven, and multiply by five

Now that just proves that tsipouro is useless for fixing cameras.

I've just e-mailed the Municipality again to remind them that, in spite of them saying on 10th March that the camera would be repaired "in a few days", it is still not working. I just hope that it gets more action this time. I did think about saying that if it isn't fixed soon I would send Dennis round to see them, but I decided against that. Bob

You COULD have said you'll send Troll round to see them, he's there isn't he? But you'd have to persuade him to miss a couple of Tsipouros. Or partake of a couple of Municipality Tsipouros?

He's back home again Dennis. He posted a picture on the Old Boomeranger's Facebook page on Saturday, I think it was, of his patio at home, saying that he was about to enjoy a Tsipouro after having just cleaned it. So it looks as though it is up to you, sir. I'm sure that if you stood on Vera's shoulders you could give the camera a "dunt". Bob

That's not good enough Bob, I need to look before I go - it's weeks yet, we're not going until June. All previous visits have been enhanced by looking out from the webcam, especially in the days immediately before we fly.
Maybe Lee (of Jules and Lee) can fix it for us, but they're not going until 15th May and anyway he's got to fix the WiFi coverage for our room at Villa Maria - he's promised to make it work inside so that I don't have to go out onto the balcony and can connect in bed. I think he's taking a bucket load of TP-Link thingies.
Do you know any more hard men who are there right now and able to go put horses' heads in beds?

Sorry Dennis but that approach is a bit out of my depth. I'll just pin my hope on the e-mail I sent. Maybe it would help if some others also sent an e-mail, using the address I gave in page one. I'm sure that there is an old proverb that says something like "many e-mails make webcam work"! or did I just imagine that? ? Bob

Hi Dennis, the two I e-mailed were pressoffice@n-skiathos.gr and tourism@n-skiathos.gr The reply I received came from tourism@0883.syzefxis.gov.gr Cheers Bob Bob, I've just emailed all three of those addresses, although it did say that the second (tourism@) didn't appear to be a valid address. I told them if they don't fix it by tomorrow night, I'll send a man who does horses heads in beds. Cos I'm a grumpy old man.
