Well here we are in Gatwick No 1 Lounge, 2 hours to go. Very nice lounge with free drink and food, bacon butties etc, thinking about a lager even if it is only 6.30am! We got this as a deal with barclays bank account. Weather forecast looks pretty good but possible rain at weekend. With luck we should be round the pool by 3pm will plan tonights meal when we get there, thinking Salt and Pepper. More reports if WI-FI works. Might even bump into Dennis wearing his shower curtain!

Hiya God. We ate in Salt and Pepper tonight, but we always go early (6pm) to avoid having to book. If you arrived as we left, you would have recognised me by the spare ribs barbecue sauce dribbling down my chin and onto my posh shirt (so delicious I wanted to take some back). The nice Maitre d' said he had turned down bookings from Goldie Hawn twice recently because she usually phones in the morning for 8pm table, but those times she didn't ring until 6pm so he was already full at 8. How can anybody turn down bookings from Goldie Hawn? I'd have laid her a tablecloth on my back and found some small children for her to sit on!

Hi all sorry for late reply but I spent ages typing yesterday and just before I went to post it the whole thing crashed! Arrived on time at Myrtia in Kouk' Lovely place hidden away in beautiful gardens and huge trees, it feels like you are in the middle of a forest but we are only 200 yards from the main road. Woke to clouds and high wind Thursday morning but by the time we reached Kouk' beach it was lovely, had a lovely chilled day a mixture of eating, sleeping and drinking cold beers, pretty much my favourite passtimes! Got the bus into town this evening Her indoors and daughter wanted to look in every dress shop and jewellers down Papp' street so I put my parts on and managed to get placed on a comfy seat outside Main Street bar with a promise they would be back soon, I enjoyed 45 minutes people watching! Ate at Georges on the steps above the Old harbour we had a large plate of Taramasolata, Mixed grill platter for 3 with Tzatziki, chips, bread and a large Greek salad, half carafe of white and a Mythos for 50 euros. Last bus at midnight from stop 4.

Friday, woke up to a breezy cloudy start so chilled on balcony with yoghurt and honey and a toasted cheese and ham sarnie (we had an ordinary toaster but after the maid came yesterday and insisted on removing it with much shrugging of shoulders, gesturing and pointing she returned with a Breville!) Sun came out so spent the rest of the day round the pool, lovely but after showering am now somewhat lobster-like, oh well! On the bus to town and sat on the cushions at the Rock and Roll bar on the steps then round the harbour which is crammed with yachts and ended up in Scuna, nice table looking across to town with all the lights starting to twinkle I almost started to feel romantic, come on get a grip! We had a Meze starter of Gavros, tzatziki, fish roe, Dolmades and some kind of mashed up nutty pastie stuff, tasty! Wife had Chicken Taglietelle with garlic and blue cheese, daughter had salmon with samphire and saffron rice, I had a Gilthead bream with basmati rice plus 1 beer a wine and water 65Euros. Just made the bus from the harbour and walked down the dirt track with the odd spit of rain, woke upto a massive bang about 2am as wind got up and crashed our shutter door thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest! Forecast not to good for Sat so we will decide our plan when up.

Saturday, oh dear doom and gloom its absolutely chucking it down and it looks set in for some time. Stuck in the room and fast running out of supplies. Her indoors is getting fed up with me constantly pacing up and down staring at the sky she can't concentrate on her book! If this carries on I am going to have to make a dash for the bar, just have to borrow one of the maids throw-away plastic rain macs! To be continued.....

Saturday (part2), nearly midday and still raining, made a quick dash to the supermarket, full of dreary looking soggy Brits trying to put a brave face on things! Got back and its thundering, H.I (her indoors) suggested playing cards which I agreed to but in the bar not in the cell (sorry room, I know I am just feeling sorry for myself). Update to follow if I haven't slit my wrists!

Yep, it's raining here in Troulos too. We did manage our early morning swim before it started, but we only had time to shower off the salt and hand the cozzies out to dry before the rain came and it has stuck at it since 9am. It's supposed to stop in 10 minutes (1pm) according to the weather App - surely somebody should already be winding the tap down?

Gorgeous here today in Cambs, in our 9 visits have only had 1 year (2007) without rain & that was the year of the awful fire. Will be packing our Rain Jackets as usual ( bought in Pap St) in 2006 during a torrential downpour. We arrive on Friday so hopefully it will be back to being scorchio!

Sorry guys, but a lovely sunny day here in the Scottish Borders. I'm just back after spending a glorious day at the beach. ? you should at least console yourselves with the thought that it is Greek rain you are experiencing. Bob

I am so pleased for Devon, Cambridgeshire, Scottish borders and all the other places that had a lovely day, not! After playing about a million rounds of Knockout blinking Wist kept sane with a couple or 3 cold ones the sun finally came out at 3pm and there was a mass exodus to the sunbeds! We stayed there till 7pm to glean as much burn time as possible! Booked Infinity Blue for tonight and getting a Jimny for 2 days from tomorrow, going to show daughter the West beaches, Kechria etc, might try the descent as last year H.I sitting on the back of the quad bottled it! Enjoy the U.K sun all those unlucky enough to be stuck there, ha ha!

Now you've really got me jealous as you are probably at my favourite restaurant, Infinity Blue, as I am writing this. I hope you have a marvellous time enjoying the wonderful food, excellent service and spectacular view. If I had seen this sooner I would have suggested that you might like to drop into the Xanthi Bar,next door, for a night cap. Matina and Bill are first class hosts. They have a really great barbecue and quiz night every Monday. If you fancy that you have to book in advance. Bob

We've got a Jimny Monday and Tuesday and will be going to Kechria one of those days. But Vera is not happy about driving down there, so it looks like we may be walking the hard bit.

Sunday, If I see you at Kechria I will give you a lift down Dennis! Went to Infinity Blue and were a bit dissapointed, the food was o.kish I had a really tasty fish soup but you had to mind the bones but H.I's main was a bit luke warm and there was a bit of a breeze. But the usual service wasn't the same and the main chap seemed to spend all his time with some locals in a sort of argument, maybe over the state of the greek economy? Never mind up this morning and the skies are blue the forecast is good and we are picking up the jimny in half an hour......
