9th September, 1st July - whichever. You'd just better be there - I've been saving for six months to buy you a bottle of pop and you'd better not disappoint me. You won't have Treason as an excuse this time. I like pop...

Thanks for these posts Tre.... really enjoying them... its so much nicer when you have an idea where places are, what they look like etc, as opposed to being relative newbies and just wondering what folk are taking pics of or re-laying tales of their visits. Love it all thank you

Good morning. For those of you following the OB FB site you may already know I was lead astray last night!! Suffering a tad this morning! So yesterday, morning walk through the forest from bus stop 24 to drink in the views from the Mandraki beaches. Not wanting to sound poetic but the air through that forest was well, aromatic. Heavenenly. Great photo opportunities as not many people about to "spoil" the shots. Don't you just hate it when you think you have a perfect shot lined up & suddenly someone runs in front to catch a frisby! Fortunately, we knew nothing was open and were glad we took a couple of bottles of water (yes water!!) It was seriously hot! We did the same walk last July & I swear it was hotter yesterday. Lunch was enjoyed at Agustera Bar. A serious treat for John as they have Strongbow on draught. Back at Theodora I actually went in the pool a couple of times to down. Yes, that hot. Someone mentioned the temperature display on the bus read 31. After much discussion with a certain Mrs M, we decided to give the new Rada Seaview restaurant a try. Only opened the other day, set up by Despina of Olive Thea fame (Still not been there) Bus stop 9 by Kassandra Bay hotel. radaskiathos.comNot disapointed at all. Wonderful beachfront setting. Received a fabulous welcome from Despina. We chose 4 different starters to share, halloumi, fried potatoes, spicy cheese, the name I can't remember & octopus. Risotto main was Superb. Thoroughly enjoyed. Just don't ask about the wine.....apparently we got another 2kilos on the house...... And so, on with Monday.

Monday, After a rather late start we headed for town to see if we could source a "card reader" to transfer pics from camera to iPad. In Skiathos!! The photography shop seemed to have every possible attachment apart from what we wanted & directed us to the Vodafone shop who directed us the the other phone shop. The one where everyone queues (or rather Don't queue!) to pay their phone bills. It reminded me of Pension day at the local post office except paying in not taking out! Anyway, novel experience but no joy. A lovely meander round town stopping for lunch on the old port. Weather once again good so another late afternoon pool side before heading back into town to meet friends (once virtual now reality) on the Bourtzi. Quite a gathering & really good to meet up. Later, dinner was at Ricci & Poveri just up the steps. Went there for the first time last year & would once again recommend. Smoked salmon Risotto with lemon & dill. Absolutely delicious. The waiter was excellent. As we were 3 " families" he did 3 separate bills for the food, but we were sharing the wine. When our bills came he'd already divided the wine cost over the 3 bills. Brilliant! Always hate shared bills at the end of the night...he had, she had, we had etc. Ours worked out at €40 for the 2 of us. Tuesday is calling....

Just a couple of quick questions - is that typical prices on Skiathois this year (ie around 40-50 euros for 2 starters plus 2 mains with wine)? I didnt go last year so nice to know typical prices so I can budget accordigly when I take mum in August. Is it Dino and Effi running the Augustera bar still? If they are there I may have a trip down one night even though we are staying in Megali Ammos.

We probably averaged mid 50 euro ,that would be for 2 courses ,wine ,bread and water, don't worry about pudding it usually comes gratis with the bill. These prices are also from what I would class as top end in Skiathos, you can pay less and certainly have a decent meal. All down to personal preferance

I would agree as above €40 to €50 for a good meal with drinks & yes you can do it for less in the "off the beaten track" places. Varthalamis for one. Another lovely day here yesterday but cooled later so no swim for me. Lots of walking & a lazy lunch at Cafe Del Mar. Olive Thea last night. Highly recommend. As it dropped quite chilly late on the open log fire was lit. Perfect. Sat by the fire after our meal with a glass of red it felt like it should be Christmas Late start today as it looks like "jacket" weather. Rain forecast. I actually brought an umbrella with me & that usually means it won't rain! We'll see. Apparently UK flights in today are on long delays, weather or strikes? I don't know. Dennis, thank you so much for the offer of a card reader. We do have one at home but he wanted to upload some here. Note to self; pack it next time! Kevb, yes, Dino & Effi, not forgetting Maverick still at Agustera bar Off to to start Wednesday....

Update; flights delays today, seemingly up to 4 hours. Air traffic control issues. Flights have now landed from Bristol, Manchester & Gatwick. Unfortunately they have landed to a cloudy, cold & rainy afternoon. Plus the forecast is apparently not good

Wednesday; rain did not stop play. Bus into town & coffee at Portobello. A visit to Driftwood Art to say hello to Jacqui &Ray. Really impressed with their extended showroom /workshop. If you've not been in before it's seriously worth dropping by. Everything hand made by Ray, generally from bits of Driftwood & other finds. Some amazing pieces. Had to buy a clock! They offer a reasonably priced shipping service if any larger item catches your eye:) www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DriftwoodArtSkiathosStarted to walk up to the Bourtzi for an afternoon beer but after somewhat swept away in the wind & rain skulked back down to the port & managed a couple under shelter. Afternoon snooze in order! Made it back to town later without getting soaked & had a pleasant meal at La Cucini Di Maria. Pizza & a Pasta, jug of wine €30 Later lead astray once more & dragged into Arconchitos, shared a jug of wine or 2 "over the fence" with friends sitting in Syrainos!!! Funny!! So Thursday, well let's say I've time to catch up with my correspondence Wearing 3 tee shirts as it's a tad chilly! I am certainly not letting a bit of rain get me down. The rain is apparently due to ease off by 3pm. So I've decided to use the next couple of hours to pack whilst enjoying a Mythos in the room. Yiammas
