Just to keep up with the song titles theme this year (OK I know it's not Jimmy Webb) This will be my official feedback thread. Flight tomorrow but I still havent packed so this is likely to be my last post before arriving on the rock. I'm also using it to test the new mini laptop/tablet before it goes in my hand luggage. However Ive just seen a more up tp date review of the accommodation which describes their wifi as 'temperamental' so reports may be patchy at best. Fingers crossed anyway, forecast looks good at least with expected highs of 27-29C most of the week.

I hope this forum's creativity with song names in thread titles continues.
The possibilities are endless, 'Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini', anyone?
Have a great time, Kev.

Don't play it as it's really irritating!!! I've picked my next thread title now - from my formative years - Beatles 'Here comes the sun'. A happy song.

Friday 11-8-17 Set off in decent time and arrived at airport a bit earlier than planned. Just as well as TC now seem to have adopted a Ryanair type policy of checking in a number of flights simultaneously instead of having a couple of desks for each flight. Big queue but at least it was moving. Thru security OK then a hearty if overpriced breakfast, mum had a quick look round the shops while I stayed on hand luggage minding duty. Late getting away (scheduled 12:15) but made up some time en route so arrived slightly ahead of schedule - hurrah! I wangled it with flight crew so me and mum could switch seats to left side of plane for approach so mum got left side window seat for landing (shes not a nervous flier!) Bags reclaimed, straight out and shared a taxi with couple going to Kanapitsa. We were unpacking at NIcholas apts by 6:40 local time. Given adjoining apts at ground level with just views out to the garden. Not great but even though I booked a long time ago it seems that we got what was left. Kosta is young lad who seems to run it with his mum. Get the impresson he is tied in with some scandinavian tour company so we may be onky Brits currently staying. Apts typical basic Greek but look clean enough. Pool area looks nice enough but only stayed briefly for a drink before heading down to Thesseloniki restaurant on Meg Ammos beach. Great view of expensive yachts moored off the beach as the lights dimmed for sunset, mum well impressed so far. Shared grilled feta starter with inevitable bread you dont order but pay for, stifado for me and spag carbonara for mum with half lt house red, complimentary caramel mousse type thing for dessert though neither of us quite got thru main courses (food fine guess we werent hungry enough) 34:60 euro (I will find the euro symbol on this chinese made laptop keyboard eventually honest). Left them 40 which Im sure went down well enough. Bought water from supermarket on way back along the pavementless and quite dangerous main road (quad bikers are the worst) mum straight to bed but Ive had an ouzo and lemon nightcap and hes charged me 6 euro so I wont be drinking a lot here despite the pleasant surroundings. Knackered so Im stopping here and leave you all to await further dispatches. All quiet on the Ammos front. Nicholas Pool Bar
My room
View from my balcony
The neighbours could get a bit noisey in the mornings though...

I've also picked mine. It's not actually a song title; its the DVD Title of a documentary about the British heavy metal giants 'Iron Maiden' entitled Flight 666. Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maidens singer is a qualified airline pilot who used to fly for Astreaus Airlines in his spare time. XL Group owned Kosmar Holidays and used Astreaus on a number of their own holiday routes; in fact our first Skiathos holiday was a Kosmar/Astreaus joint venture so I would imagine Bruce has flown to Skiathos on a number of occasions. 2018's feedback will be entitled 'Flight 666' or it could even be 'Flight of the Beast' because 666 is the 'Number of the Beast'. As we all know that particular song is sooooo chilled and relaxing lol.

I'm really torn between Ilkley Moor 'Baht 'at, There's a Worm at the bottom of the Garden and Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud.
It all depends on the condition of my leg when we travel. We almost had a step change at yesterday's dressing change, not quite, but promising.

Sat 12-8-17 Going to be a brief one as didnt sleep great last night and dont want to be up late writing an essay. Breakfast at pool bar mum on pancakes with honey me on yoghurt with fresh fruit and we had a latte and a frappe. Beautifully prepared but ended up 17 euro total, they dont undersell themselves here. Next stop proviions at local supermarket for future breakfasts on balcony, back to apts to dump provisions. Next introduce mum to town. in half a day we have done : Pap st, down to the harbour, round to check out boat trips, back for frappes on the Bourtzi, walked down to Mylos in time to see both a landing and a takeoff, beers in Mylos, back to the harbour to see the organised chaos that is a ferry docking and refilling then in the ferry ticket office and we now have tickets for the mythical ferry to Loutraki (Glossa) with free connecting bus to Skopelos town then the return ferry from Skopelos town to Skiathos late afternoon. Will keep paperwork and provide details for anyone intersted for future, all I will say is you have to be a bit persistent with them as this service does not run every day. Walked back to apts for some deserved chillin time round the pool. Evening walk back into town (we havent used a bus yet maybe put that right tomorrow) to book another boat trip round the island on Thurs then off for dinner at Dionyssos. Considering it is so busy in town Im surprised to see half the restaurant has empty tables. Oh well more to choose from. Weve decided to skip starters (apart from 3 pieces of warmed rustic bread with lurpack) and wade in with lamb kleftiko for me plus swordfish fillet for mum. We also order khalf a litre of red and a bottle of water (its still peeing out of me from every facial pore Ive drunk more water since arriving than I have in a full week on previous holidays, must get some weight off). Final cost just under 34 euros for both of us not including tip. We leave 38 nothing wrong with service here. Finally find Old Port House at 4th holiday visit, mum likes it (decent size glass of wine plus ouzo and lemonade for 6 euro, up yours Nicholas pool bar). She is all for leaving me in town and finding her own way back but Ive had enough considering only 4 hours sleep last night. Look in windows of Totem Admiral Benbow and Blind Dog on a mazy route back to Pap St then see if mum can find her way back to Meg Ammos without me prompting (as a test) and miraculously the old girl does exactly that. Part mum part homing pigeon. Back at apts for 12pm knackered again. Here endeth the second day and no major casualties to report. Part of Sat excursion - yes we retreated to Mylos just before he got the engines revving...

Forgot to mention Huddersfield won their first ever Prem lg game today away at Crystal Palace and as a result sit top of the table on goal difference. Just for Phil, Iron Maidens long standing manager Rod Smallwood is a Huddersfield man ;-)
