Woo hoo!! I can now definitely start my thread ~ just done online check in and the cases are half-packed. We're on the 06:00 from Manchester (MT1194).
Got a busy day - house cleaning, nail & hair appointments and father-in-law is visiting this afternoon. Plus, I forgot that we accidentally left our mozzie plug in behind last holiday, so I need to buy a new one. (Can't believe I did that!)
I decided to use a Sheryl Crow song for this visit as I love her stuff & the video to this is very summery ~
Wifi is reputedly good in the hotel, so ... see you soon!
If that's all she wears, she's another 'un bahn ter get 'er deeeath a cold.
Have a lovely journey Kate and watch out for us on the Bourtzi some afternoon - I'll be the one with a peg leg and a parrot on my shoulder.
I am soooooo pleased to look at the photos for Atlas Hotel and see that your shower dangles round the tap - you're not going to somewhere that much posher than the rest of us!!! Have you got a Bob's Sucker Thing? Mine didn't work at Villa Maria in July, the pipe handle was too fat to fit in the hole, so I'm hoping for a better result in ten days.
Why am I jealous of you for going tomorrow? Silly innit? MT1194, I'll be watching.
Will look forward to your posts. Ever since i bought my shower thingy ive always had a shower on the wall and this year one of those huge overhead rain sowers with a glass screen, a far from all the years no shower curtain drain in permanently soaked floor, no plug in the sink. happy memories all part of the holiday fun
Thanks, Boomerangers! Yes Dennis ~ Sheryl Crow IS that bloke's daughter (Mr Crowe!!) and I'll look out for Vera, you & your parrot on the Bourtzi. I must say, I have packed Bob's sucker thing in case the shower doesn't come up to standard, Dennis & Cariad - although the bathroom does look v modern.
I'll pass on you regards to Olga, Dave .... and thanks for the tip, I've packed some extra coat hangers - just in case. Actually, I was a bit surprised when I weighed our cases today as I was expecting to have to ditch a lot of (Paul's) clothes but they came in at 16kg & 17kg, so I can buy some 'stuff' now!!! Great joy
Tre - have found out we're on the same flight as Jules and Graham, so I'll say hello (were you at their wedding?). Also, Elias22 from TA has messaged me to say she's on the 6am as well - Paul will be scratching his head & wondering how I 'know' these people., as he's a total non-social media person. He'll be hoping for a dark Fix or two tomorrow, Kev ~ I might have to celebrate being back with a few cocktails (just to be sociable).
Right - it's just after 9pm, so we're going to try and grab some sleep for a few hours - taxi at 2.30 am
Kate, we missed Julie's weddng as we were in Thassos,. Have met them them both, lovely people. Elias22! Lovely lady. Yes, I thought you were on the same flight! (Marion & Brian, they were at Julie's wedding!) We became friends on FB & met them, can you believe, when we were in Fuerteventura earlier this year! Ahh, special people Are you at the Atlas? Have an amazing time.
Curses, I watched Kate take off as Vera went swimming, then saw her going over Sheffield. But then I never got chance to look again and now she's sneakily landed half an hour ago. She and Paul will surely be outside Mythos and wine by now. I'm not jealous, but Tre is. Well, I AM jealous, but I have the consolation of knowing that I'm now down to single figures.
Any minute now we shall be getting a demonstration of how brilliant the WI-FI is in her posh hotel (with the shower thing wrapped round the tap in the black tiled lavvy).
I had lunch with Jules & Graham in the week before they got married, unfortunately I flew home the day before the wedding so couldnt go either. I think she mentioned somewhere on TA that they are staying at least part of their hols this time at Panormos on Skopolos. Hopefully Kate is settling in at their accommodation as Dennis says.
